About time!! Anyway, looking forward to it.
Yep according to the creators
Tbh I hope that they don't rush the reveal and/or capture of Red John, he's been this menacing big bad for 5 years along with having killed Patrick's family and being the sole reason he joined the CBI. I believe that a revelation of who he is at the end or during season 5 would have nicely set up them capturing him this season, but I supposed we'll have to wait and see what the writers have it store for us
To be honest, once they reveal RJ, we will all think who is he. Since its gone for so long, I cant but help it will be an anti-climax. Still looking forward to the new series.
Just make sure there's plenty of Cho.
I did like Cho's "I won't tell anyone." statement. he always makes me chuckle.
Cho so often steals the scenes
It has 100% been confirmed it is one of the 7 . That list is final and it is 1 of them !!
I was totally convinced it was him! Then again, lots of fans (myself included) felt so clever for spotting all the little 'clues' pointing to him - Bruno Heller probably out them there *just* to make fans think it was Partridge!
Bruno Heller has confirmed it's one of the 7. I really hope it isn't Reede Smith or Sheriff McCallister, unless they're going to bring in a whole back-story for one of them to explain it... and even then I don't think they could make it worthwhile.
My money now is on Ray Haffner.
none of the 7 suspects on their own seem formidable enough to be RJ imo
I'm warming to the theory that RJ is only an M.O. but one of the suspects is now trying to kill off the rest to became RJ (the brand)
Not unless Bruno Heller lied in the interview where he said it's one of the 7. Any information he has given in interviews before has been trustworthy.
A few questions arising from this week's episode:
1) (Going on the assumption RJ is one of the 7, for the reason outlined above) Did RJ know his phone had been bugged and so leave / plant it somewhere knowing Lisbon would check before coming to the house if any of the suspects were there? Or is one of the bugs Van Pelt placed a fake? (ie - she just bugged a random number) Would suggest she could be in with RJ...
2) Who made the anonymous phone call asking Lisbon's team to respond to the call at the house? Was it RJ? Or was it Partridge? And if it was Partridge - why? Did he want to lead Patrick and Lisbon to RJ? Was he told to by RJ, in order to lead them there? Or was he working for RJ and tried to lead Jane there knowing RJ would be there, and RJ killed him for it? (RJ won't want Jane to work out who he is yet - he's having too much fun!)
3) Why did Sac PD take so long responding to Lisbon's call for back-up? Was it a genuine case of not being able to get any officers there? Or is RJ someone with connections in Sac PD? After all - all the suspects are in some area of Law Enforcement (FBI / CBI / Homeland Security / Police Force) apart from Stiles, but he has plenty of contacts everywhere!
The more I question it, the more my theories change! I don't think it's Stiles - not only does he not fit descriptions we've had of RJ previously, but he seems to have been there all along as too obvious a suspect. He's creepy alright, but I don't think he's RJ. Reede Smith also doesn't fit the previous descriptions. I also don't think it's Kirkland - I've suspected all along that he has his own reasons for wanting to steal Jane's info on RJ (perhaps RJ killed someone close to him?)
That leaves Bertram, Haffner and McCallister. I think they'll be the last 3 suspects left standing (as I'm assuming RJ is now going to kill the rest of the ones on the list one at a time). All I can say is, if it's McCallister, they're going to have a LOT of explaining to do to make us care - he was only in one episode, and that was in series 1!!!
Good questions, especially no 3 which I was banging on about when we saw it.
Our favourite RJ suggestions are (not on the list!!) Cho as I reckon he could be a brilliant psycho killer and also Rigsby just because he is so ditzy so it would be unexpected. But it's not so it's a moot point. We were slightly disappointed with the 7 names as (I especially) couldn't remember who some people were.
I agree that Stiles, although a brilliant character, would be too obvious. Maybe it's a double bluff? But I just don't think it's him.
It was quite surprised that Lisbon told Van Pelt about the names, I know what she said about 'it's her case', 'she is doing what she thinks is right' but she knows that RJ is always two steps ahead and it was a major risk. I just assumed that RJ would know (somehow) that a GPS track was put on his phone anyway.
It dosn't make any sense at all for it to be Patrick Jayne
He waa talking to RJ when RJ had Lisbon, Lorelli knew RJ so she would of known if it was Jayne.
It is impossible for it to be Jayne and not make a mockery of the show and everything that has come before it.
^ This, plus:
- Jane was tied up by RJ in the Season 2 (I think?) finale.
- Jane spoke to RJ on the phone in the Season 4 finale.
There are others, but can't think of them right now.....
Another yay for Kimball Cho!
I was expecting another RJ suspect from the list to be bumped off but alas, no
I'm liking the way they're doing this. My friend and I had said at the time when RJ had killed Jane's "happy memory" that he must have told his psychiatrist about her, so it was nice to see that being mentioned and that loose end sorted. It gives me hope that they might tie up some of the other loose ends and dropped clues from throughout the seasons.....
Kirkland and Stiles are the only suspects we haven't seen yet (apart from the montage-type scenes where they remind us of all of them!) so I'm expecting either a Kirkland-focused ep or a Visulaise ep next week (for the first time ever I'm avoiding spoilers from one week to the next!)
