Thanks Mrs. F. I don't know how much interest there is with it not being aired but those who are following on line I will try to post videos as I find them. ET and Access will most likely have interviews daily and more rehearsal footage for the rest of the week in preparation for Monday.
I would like to see more of Gladys and Tristan and I am on the look out for that.
There are pictures of them rehearsing, I believe on March 8th, if you Google "Getty Images" and then search for "Gladys Knight."
And this was in an Irish dance studio message board (their FB page linked below) where he held a workshop in January and has attended events and stuff - Tristan posted about his background:
Tristan, Sun Apr 03, 2011 9:43 pm: "Hey Guys
Thanks for taking an interest, things here are going great!! I actually started dancing with George and Kay Devlin before moving on to Iverna Corcoran (where my grandparents still dance) and then Niall Newman. Alot of people think I went to Flora Miller although I never did I had and still have a lot of friends from there. I finished competing in 2000 after we danced in the world championships in Latvia. After a year or two break I went back dancing in theatre and touring shows( All thanks to Tommy Shaughnessy). This led to Burn The floor, which I toured with on and off for five or six years they were my favourite years, working with Jason Gilkison and Peta Roby was unbelievable and really gave me a second wind and opened my eyes and imagination to what we all love so much- Dance. These were the years that I feel helped me take the next step. Due to a knee operation, I took a year off stage were again, thanks to Tommy, I was introduced to Chris Johnston, who invited me to Boston to teach. I spent a year there before returning to Burn the Floor for another World tour. I was lucky enough then to be offered Dance Captain and Ballroom supervisor on Dirty Dancing in London's West End and after that I went back to Burn The Floor for a third time!!!!! Whilst there I was offered a a contract with Dancing With The Stars.
Now Im here, Im having a ball working with all these dancers I watched growing up and as always trying to learn as much as possible
!!!! Again thanks for the interest and I hope to continue to rise and promote dancing in Ireland, prove that regardless of how big or small our industry at home is, we all get our rewards with hard work and dedication.
And last night, he posted to his Facebook fan page:
"Thanks everyone for all the support- things are going great Gladys is super to work with and we are having a blast looking forward to opening night on monday!!"
And a recent video of him being asked about being a "love doctor" and giving advice, dancing with blokes, etc. - maybe it'll work outside the US:
Still nothing on Gladys and Tristan. I imagine because she is on the road.
Here Lili, a little peek of Tristan and Gladys rehearsing - plus a short interview - they start at 1 minute 5 seconds in this video from "Extra"
It shows them dancing for a few seconds - and talking about her muscles being sore, him recommending ice, and he says she looks really good so they don't have to worry about covering anything and her costumes will be bright colors.
Here's what the Tweet from TristanMacManusFans said where I found the link (and the link here did work for me so I hope it does for you but otherwise, maybe go to Twitter to find it - it was 30 minutes ago or so):
Really hope Martina does well, but female tennis players have dreadful records on Strictly/DWTS - Martina Hingis and Monica Seles were first out in their series, and Iva Majoli was second out in the Croatian version. (Not that I ever saw it!)
And who was the British tennis player who became a sports announcer who was on Strictly several seasons ago? Andrew somebody? I can't remember his name or how many weeks he stayed on the show, but I don't think he did very well either.
Have there been any other male tennis players? I'd love to see Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl, Boris Becker... I'm getting a little tired of football players.
Oh, and Lili, I was on Gladys' website and noticed she has a Sunday night concert in Houston, Texas, on 15 April which is the day before Week 5 Monday performance night. WTH? Does she expect to be gone by then - or could she possibly fly into LA on the day of the performance and be in time? (they have a 7 am call but I guess she could be late and rush into dress rehearsal and the show after performing the night before - but it strikes me as crazy planning. Even if Gavin DeGraw is doing something like that, he's 35 and she's 67 - big difference!)
And Sunday is camera blocking! How are they gonna do that? Have Tristan fly back just for that, with a stand-in pro (like he did for Ralph Macchio when he was hurt really badly for his and Karina's Viennese Waltz), and Gladys could get into town the next day?
But I'll be thrilled if she makes it to Week 4. I hope they bring Tristan back with a younger celeb next time. I'm not sure what this partnering means for his future on DWTS

What a bummer for Tristan if she is planning she will be off the show by the 4th week. We'll see.

Andrew Castle....he was awful and only stayed around because Ola wore revealing costumes to draw attention away from him. Last series there was Dan Lobb (TV sports presenter) who claimed he was once a top British Tennis player he was dull as ditchwater and went very quickly.
A couple of years ago I sent a text to a radio show that John McEnroe was duing during Wimbledon to ask if he would consider doing Strictly or DWTS his reply was a very emphatic no and he was very funny about it...saying that the public would not want to see him in lycra.

I am very interested and grateful.

Tristan interviewed arriving at rehearsals.

I'd like more rehearsal though.
If true I'd assume they will bring in Dimitry for her or a female celeb dropped out. She is 5'9" so needs a tall pro.

Thank you Lilli
I'm sure I read somewhere that Derek Hough was saying he thought the standard of dancing this season was going to be very high.
looking forward to watching this Tuesday morning!

Extra's Stephanie Seymour checked in on Tristan & @MsGladysKnight the other day. They're at 1:05. Enjoy! http://soc.li/SzX9dzB
ETA: She's in LA and has been paparazzi'd leaving the studio from practice - doesn't have a concert till March 30, according to her website.
