Very funny movie. I believe this was the great John Candy's last, too?

It's a comedy that tells a good story and has an uplifting message. There should be more movies like this.

Not his last no, that was Wagons East I think. He died during the making of it and they had to do something with the film to complete his remaining lines / scenes etc. I believe. Someone will post the correct details on here I'm sure.

Greatest kids film ever. Sanka was the funniest character i had ever seen as a kid at the cinema. I remember I cried as a kid at the end, Still gets me abit at the end still.

Remember the guy who wanted to live at Buckingham Palace lol

He didnt know that the queen lived there - Sanka's response was funny 'you would have to marry her, if you wanna live there' lol

they had to either use a stand in for some scenes that couldnt be changed or rewrite others to not involve him

^ Thanks for the heads up on iPlayer. Just finished watching it. Really enjoyed it. I had no idea that the original footage of the real-life Jamaican Olympic bobsled team's actual crash (caused by the driver's mistake) was used in this film. Anyway, although it relies a tad heavily on stereotypes, Cool Runnings is fun. So quotable, too.

    My favourite:

Yul: How 'bout I beat your butt right now?
Sanka: How 'bout I draw a line down the middle of your head so it looks like a butt?
