Actually I was able to resolve my money issue for a while. I took the time to hunt some sharks and raise my limit from $4k to $6k, which gave a temporary reprieve. Then spent $500 on a map, and used it to find enough collectables to unlock a signature weapon. That was reassuringly expensive at $3k or so.
Yeah mines now £10k which at the beginning of the game I would have loved but then by the end of the game I've got all of the signature weapons and all of the maps but ther are still hundreds of treasure chests to loot and nothing to spend it on. It would be good if the items found in the chests had a collectible value. Because it's all monetary I have no desire now to clear them.
^^ Yeah. Although I had a similar situation in Far Cry 2, I still wanted to find all the diamonds. I think Far Cry 3's limits on what money you can carry takes something away from the game. I would have quite liked to amass all the wealth even if there was nothing left to spend it on.

It really does bug me when I see all the unopened treasure chests on the map!! So I do get one when I see one but it feels like more of a chore with no gain now than it did at the beginning when I was penniless. Lots of money helps when your taking out outposts because you need to stock up on ammo. The last mission I've given up on for now required so much ammo I kept running out and because I was on a turret I couldn't run down and steal ammo without dying.
I enjoyed Triple Decker because I got to use my sniper again
I'm torn between buying my godson this or Assassins Creed III for his birthday. The lazy option is to get both but his mum would kill me as she already thinks he spends too much time on gaming!
I've yet to meet anyone who can make a case for AC over FC3 though

I got both and prefer FC3. AC3 is a let down, IMHO.

Definitely get FC3. AC3 is a huge mis-step in many areas and i say that as a fan of the series.

I have to agree. AC3 is decent, but it's not a patch on the Ezio games (i even enjoyed Revelations more) and even 4 months after release i was still encountering frustating bugs (e.g. falling through the floor and having to quit, waypoints not showing, etc...). FC3 is the one to go for, although FC3 is more adult than AC3 so i'd take that into account depending on your godsons age.
Just picked this up today and it's amazing I'm totaly hooked, modern current games rarley would make my top 10 ever this is an exception
And about AC3 or FC3 get FC3 by a long shot, like some say AC3 is still good with amazing cut scenes and storyline but the bugs and FPS issues are a problem and actually AC Revelations was my favorite.
I've only played FC3 for 5 hours or so and it's epic.
Woo finally got 1000 gamer score on it, took me near 2 hours to get a server from the lobby on sidetracked need up getting one on the hardest difficulty but the team was really good so got it in the end
Anyone up for doing the co-op storylines for the trophies (ps3) on say Sunday?
If interested add me psn id thegame2k0
I would because I've realised the only trophies I haven't got are the co op ones and I don't know anyone to play it with.
It would need to be after 5 or so!

Just got this. Is it worth using the code? I only ask because I don't really play multiplayer, and usually sell games on ebay when I've done, so if there's no need to use it I won't. But if there are exclusive missions or something I will.
I could be wrong but I don't think you can avoid using it as the game needs to use U-Play to play it, even in single player mode. It's an "always online" game.
If it can't contact Uplay it will eventually play the game off-line. It's just that next time you play it will then warn you that local and cloud save files are out of sync and ask which one you want to use.
Never activated my code and no problems at all with the game or saves.
Has anyone done the co-op with 2 player off line? Finished the game on hardest setting and still cant get through the co-op missions, albeit with a quite inexperienced gamer. Are they just set up for 4 people?
If ever a save-game gets corrupt, I'll have to replay days worth.
As it happens, I did get a corrupt save-game file the other day. I'm not sure how; I didn't switch off while it was saving. Luckily I had a manual save that was only a few hours old.
[On maps and route-planning]At the moment I am not really getting the same vibe from FC3. It's partly because the map is large enough that I've not really got to know any part of it yet. There hasn't been much scope for long-distance route planning.
The FC3 maps are less useful because they don't show terrain clearly. FC2 showed a definite distinction between passable and impassible terrain. You know when you had to go around a mountain or when the only route was a narrow pass. With FC3, you can't tell. The map shows where things are, but you can't use it to plan a route to get there.
Finally completed single player campaigne on this and yes it has it's faults but wow what a journey.
Was blown away by this piece of music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KckJrdHyEVA the part where you first speak to Daisy at the docs was quite emotional.
The game for me had a strange storyline but it had enough going for it to draw me in. There were plenty of great scenes and the voice acting was brilliant 8/10 only 8 as was let down by stupid AI and bits of screen tearing.

I competed all the co-op missions in 2 player but online so they are possible with just 2 players. We played on normal, I think there was an easier difficulty setting as well so you may want to switch that down if the second player isn't that good as you are reliant on the other player to get you up if you die and to perform certain tasks during the mission.
Just finished it, loved it, can't believe i nearly passed on it after how i didn't get on with Far Cry 2. This was probably one of the best games of the last year for me.
It would have been good if they'd made it so that the bad guys occasionally tried to retake bases though and you had to defend them or reclaim them (kind of like the gang territory thing in GTA: San Andreas), it would have added to the longevity of the game since once you've taken all of the bases the isalnd becomes pretty safe. Still, that's just a minor gripe.

Now I've completed it, is there any way to go back and re-do the last mission to watch the better ending?

IMHO you got the best rubbish ending
