It was great!
The good soundtrack is one of the reason why it hasn't been released on DVD. Because it contains so much music it is so hard to get it cleared and will cost a lot of money. I've contacted both Columbia TriStar and Carnival Limited, both have said they have no plans to relase it. The only really hope thefore is that either Channel 4 or E4 repeat it.
The web site's still up but offers very little - http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/A/asif/
More info on as if here - http://www.tv.com/as-if/show/6226/summary.html
I'm sure there's a gap somewhere for it? Esp when BB ends
I think E4 repeated the first 3 series last year around the same time as channel 4 was showing series 4 during the weekends on T4. Channel 4 then repeated series 4 again at a 9am slot.
Ali G actually launched and introduced the channel -
Yeah!!!
LOL, You were never happy with the whole Al and Al thing were ya?
You'd think so, also as E4 is now on Freeview you'd think there might be an audience who has never seen it. Anything is better than yet more Friends repeats.
Has anyone been watch Sugar Rush on channel 4. They seem to use the same kinda style of filming & music, even the credits are rather As If-ish! I think some of the team that worked on As If are now working on Sugar Rush even tho its made by a different company.
"As If" was good because you could relate to the characters and they were a lot more likebale, and realisitic. There were gay characters in this as well, not the queeny type, but normal guys. My favourite was the woman with the died dreads and piercings.
E4 IMO should repeat all their original classics to give freeviewers a chance to see what they missed! But I get the impression E4 is going to be a totally new channel once Big Brother is finished (a bit like the new Men & Motors), dominated by music and Channel 4 repeats.
Yeah, I only really got into it during series 4 and have spend ages trying to get hold of the first 3 series with little sucess. I have the whole of the 4th series record to dvd and a few random episode from series 1 and 2.
There were quite a few over the 4 series, the main one being Alex. I think his policeman boyfriend from series 1 went on to be in 'Mile High' on Sky One.
Ahhhh Soz! There was a fan site of Sooz aka Emily Corrie up until about a year ago.
As for a DVD there is still a little petition going around but I'm not sure if it will get anywhere. Its been going for over a year now.

I still think it would fit in with their target audience tho. Even if they were to show it at 2pm at the change over point between the music side and the main E4 shows.
I think the orginal writer/producer left at the end of series 3 an d this is why series 4 is so different and apparently the weakest. I think so some countries the used the altenative ending of series 3 and left it at that.
No I wasn't! and secretly neither were you Chris!
E4 show the same two episodes of Friends at 5 and then at another time (I don't remember when) but there was a time when I would have watched those repeats, but it makes me hate Friends.
I love As If and its much better than all these American shows like One Tree Hill which they show on Channel 4 anyway, but they're just boring to me!
Ok, your right.
Yup, but I guess it pulls in the audiences and afterall that is what E4 need to survive.
I'd agree with ya, but I'm sure others wouldn't.
Well it would make sense, and specially as its not going to be release on DVD you'd think more people would be intereted in seeing it one last time.
I think when E4 re-ran the first 3 series they kinda messed up a little and missed out episodes. Hopefully they would treat it better a second time around.
I'm sure when I was T4 last year one of the presenters was saying that As If was like the UK version of The OC. Never seen it but if the OC is popular on E4 then I can't see why an As If repeat wouldn't be. Afterall I'm sure they are lots of teenagers who haven't seen it cos either they were too young or they were never in during the day on saturday or up at 9am during a week day.
We could try persuading E4, but we know what they're like at listening-you should know Chris!
Yeah they do seem to take their time replying.
I've just said asked if they'll be repeating it at some point in the future on either E4 or Channel 4. I kinda hinted that once Big Brother has finished might be a good time with all those hours of empty slots due to no live BB.
