BBC Two daytime 2013 would be an ideal home for classic repeats

The Guardian is reporting that BBC executive of Daytime wants the Likely Lads and other Black and White series to be repeated on BBC Two Daytime when it changes in January. Surely an ideal time and year to see Classic Who. Apparently the schedule will try an appeal to retired men with programming skewed towards politics and news and some classic series being reshown starting with The Blue Planet etc. Think Doctor Who deserves to get an airing in its anniversary year surely

But yes; it would be fantastic to see this. I think it would even entice a lot of younger fans (such as myself, though I'm going to start collecting the DVDs) into older Who. I'm sure a lot of them have a certain curiosity to see what made Who so special in the first place and what it had to get it to where it is now. And of course, who doesn't want to know why their Mum used to hide behind the sofa every week?
It'd be a lot of wasted potential if they didn't, especially as the episodes were significantly shorter, and wouldn't eat into the daily schedules too much
Repeat fees are often as expensive as making new content. Sad, but true
