Trouble is, will they be able to find 5 sexy, shaggable women in their 40s in the North East of Englandshire?

Come to think of it, will they able to find attractive females of any age ?

Actually, Holly lives in Middlesborough. Not all of the cast are from Newcastle, but from different parts of the North East. Greg's accent isn't that blunt/harsh, but a tiny bit well spoken in places. Gary's accent is very blunt and is very close to ours. On the video, Holly sounded a bit like a Yorkshire women when saying the word 'flirty'. Jay's accent is very blunt as well. So is Sophie's from that video.

Just read the tv guide synopsis for this first episode:
Brand New! It all kicks off when 8 Geordies become housemates. Vicky can't decide if she prefers Jay or Greg, Greg wants to leave and Holly, the only housemate in a relationship, is unfaithful

Amazing how this is pretty much the same way season 1, episode 1 of Jersey Shore started.

    - Sammy couldn't decide whether she preferred Mike or Ronnie.
    - Snooki wanted to leave.
    - J-Woww, a housemate in a relationship, was unfaithful with Paulie D.

Anyone would think they're just remaking Jersey Shore, using the exact same storylines only tweaking them slightly!

That would never happen, of course.....

J-Woww, what kind of a name is that?!

Digital Spy has this in their "5 Not To Miss" for the week. Must be good then...

None of the females in this programme appeal to me at all, in fact they all look and sound the same.

I just wish the trailers would stop being bloody shown on Viva so i could enjoy my South Park without an increased volume of I Predict a Riot.

The "classy" one seems the best out of the girls IMO. She looks pretty, but then again, we don't know what she's like. Coming from a bloke, the lads actually look better than the women, which is the opposite to what Jersey Shore is like, where the women are much better looking than the blokes.

I'll probably see some of this out of curiosity, living across the water. But I'm ready for Newcastle to be misrepresented and the usual stereotypes to be used in the show.

just because you can't it does not mean that no one else will. Why not stick to the blokes in skirts that your country specialises in.

The sad thing is these paid for caricatures will have some thinking "this is how I should behave too, they're my age and they've got on TV being themselves, maybe so can I!" not realising this is all set up and managed accordingly. It's bad enough the stereotype exists, but to advertise it as something worthy of television time and national recognition will just cause some less enlightened folks to get the wrong idea about how to get famous. I can see this potential being a contender against TOWIE as it looks to be just as trashy but without so many obvious camera set ups.
