Been a fan of Big brother USA for a while now and i much prefer the game element aspect to the USA BB then our UK who wants to be famous or just sit quiet for 10 weeks and win a cash prize.
Now Im not saying for BBUK to take on the USA format for a whole summer season but maybe have it in place before the summer series maybe drop the CBB in Jan and have maybe a 8 week run of the new format basically test the waters and see how the UK audience takes to this new format of BB in the UK.
Only downside i think to it is most UK fans will hate the fact that we have no say in who goes or who wins but for me watching BB USA and Canada and seeing the whole game play come into force, people have to fight to win to get as far as they can or even win it makes for more entertaining viewing.
Another factor i might add is say C5 do decide to axe BB why not give the the USA format a chance and it could be heavily promoted as Big brother as you have never seen it before or something along those lines.
This is how i think it could work:
8 week Run
11 Housemates
Prize fund is £50k
Runner Up receives £15k
Reason why im saying this because i would love to see this format in the UK and would give alot of the fans of BBUS over here a chance to play the game
Random thread but what are your thoughts

I think with heavy promo of it being a new Big brother all together and as the uk have never seen before people who may have never watched BB before may tune in to see the new format.
With the USA Format yeah its different but it still is BB in some way i mean people still get nominated, people get evicted, twists can happen, and it still kind of is a social experiment.
I would love to see how we do the show the house would need some work done like add the HOH room, a have not room etc and the garden would have to be a good size in order to have those amazing HOH and Veto comps that USA and Canada do.
Call it something like 'Deception' and pick 12 people specifically based on their ability to manipulate, strategise, and gameplay. Increase the prize fund to at least £250,000. Lock them away for 10 weeks, perhaps in a mansion or manor house to differentiate from the Big Brother house. Still have the Head of Household, the Nominations, and the Evictions.
Or just bring Survivor UK back.
The UK did two seasons of survivor then stopped. They're on youtube somewere. Excellent games.
Yes I like US BB, or indoor suvivor. Inside or out, we need a new game.
speaking of - when does Survivor blood & water start? This week or next?
Have a HOH comp the HOH then nominates one housemate for eviction.
The housemates then nominate two or more for eviction to join HOH nominee (they can all talk about nominations).
All housemates play for the veto if used a replacement nominee is named by the HOH.
The three or more housemates nominated after veto face a public vote to save.
It would encourage gameplay but also retain the original features of BB. Everyone would have to play and strategize in order to avoid nomination.
Unfortunately most of the level of HMs the producers select are so mentally poor, inarticulate , all fake hair etc, that they might resort to scouting graduates and roaming university campus to even have HMs who can do strategic & psychological games that the US contestants brilliantly do.
I disagree, we have no idea how UK contestants would cope. Look at GM She is in final 4.
Im imagining it how it could be how sad
But i do think Endemol should just do it take a risk and see how it goes i mean if BB on C5 does get the boot again then they could pitch the BBUSA format to other channels i mean would C4 have it back as that format maybe?
Like i said before promote it heavily get a serious/kind of well known presenter on board 'now i love Emma but i dont think she would suit this type of BB' and Live feed would be CRUCIAL so they can not have it and have no LF cause that is what makes BBUSA even more entertaining you see the strategy build every day and peoples games change.
I would apply for it to i would love to play it and see how far i can get
The thing I don't like about BBUK is that they flip the voting from who to evict or who to save, which often sends a strong person out depending on whos up for that eviction night.
I agree that pitching a differently named show would be good. There was a show called Glass House, that was very similar to Big Brother US and CBS sued them. I think that CBS owns the patent rights to the BBUS format. But maybe they can work out a deal and bring Glass House in to the UK.
I agree with you on Flip voting and Vote to save is much better imo it saves the bigger characters which makes for a better show. I have not bothered with CBB this time round as BBUS is where im focusing right now with LF etc.
reason why i made this thread was because im bored of our format and would love to see the US format over here and wanted to hear what everyone else thought
That is true. I would like to see it in the UK without public vote. I'm sure it will never happen though we seem to love voting for everything and ruining the show.
Also it is too manipulated according to who they favour. And vote to save only works with more than 2 up.
Also outside knowledge of who the public like should never be allowed to infiltrate the house. I think that happened in The Glass House from what I remember.
I do like the idea of a save and replace/veto-like task, but they only did it once back in BB11.
Although, it probably wouldn't ever work since we don't seem to like the mean spirited side of these types of shows. You'd get someone like Amanda and OFCOM would never hear the end of it.
If they did do this I believe it would have to be a new show
Channel 4 would be smart to create a show like it because they have been floundering since losing Big Brother.
I was for having our BB brining in the HOH and Veto as thing one season but i think they should just leave it as i would rather see the HOH and Veto in the USA format 100%.
I keep hearing about survivor should i give it go then ? If so what season should i start cause i knows there a ton of them maybe start from 2-3years back?
I'd say overall Survivor is the ultimate reality gameshow, and if you enjoy BBUSA you should like Survivor.
Personally I'd say start from the very first season, it's a lot slower paced and basic compared to recent seasons, but if you haven't watched any Survivor before then that difference won't be noticeable to you. And the first season, Borneo, has lots of great characters.
Plus it is great watching how the show evolved season to season. There are 26 seasons to get through though, so I'll see you in a year.
If you don't have time for that though, here are some of my favourite seasons that I'd recommend: Marquesas, Amazon, Pearl Islands, China, Fans vs Favourites 1, Gabon, Heroes vs Villains, Philippines (probably best to avoid the All Star themed seasons though until you've seen the originals).
I'd probably start with Survivor all stars. I think it's season 7. But you can start at the first season and watch it evolve. Easily the best reality show on TV.
