As the title says which should i get, i dont download games so just need memory for saving games, so is it better to get the basic or shell out the extra money for the premium ?
Premium, for a number of reason: With basic you have to expand the memory eventually as it isn't enough, you also get the premium credit points whenever you buy something from the eShop and black looks better!
Either way, I'm pretty sure the basic pack was discontinued anyway, and I can only find preowned versions.

They still sell them on amazon, i wont be downloading from the shop anyway, will i need extra memory if its only used to save to? i will be mainly playing mario games, as i will also be getting the PS4 on release for my main gaming

ye i know the basic system was on there a while back for £150 brand new, but like you say i think they may have been getting rid of the last lot. So looks like it will be the premium, i know Nintendo are releasing a premium with Mario U and Luigi U for £250.00 seems like a good deal
Thanks for the link, i was hoping the WII may drop a bit more before Christmas with the new consoles coming out but i suppose £250 with 2 games are pretty good

Considering how well WWHD has performed (800% increase in Wii U sales following its release) and with Nintendo's strong Xmas line up for the Wii U, I can't see a price drop in the foreseeable future!
And yeah, the NSMBU bundle is actually pretty reasonably priced! and you get the extras like the GamePad stand, dock etc etc

Ye how ever good the PS4 and XBOX one will be they haven't got Mario, i will use my PS4 for my FPS and sports games but you cant beat Mario for sheer fun and addictiveness
I was in the same situation as you and went for the Wind Waker premium edition last week to go along with my PS4 when it arrives. Wii U will be for exclusives & PS4 for everything else

Ye what ever you think about Nintendo's console policy with the WII and Wii U they still have such strong exclusives. I also like the idea of being able to carry on gaming on the controller i havent had a hand held console for years but it will be good to be able to sit there playing mario whilst my mrs has x factor on hahaha
oh nightmare, I dont know whether to get it or wait for the black friday deals in November on Amazon, i got a feeling they will do the same price for the mario / Luigi pack which would be ideal for me

The Mario and Luigi pack is only released on 8th November, so I can't imagine it being discounted that quickly (and even then, it's already an amazing price at 249!).

I can only find used on Amazon too:

For less than £60 extra, you get a new premium bundle with a game. I'd say go with that, personally.
This premium bundles comes with both NSMBU and NSLU:
