    Cría Cuervos (Raise Ravens) 1976
Stunning film about a child coming to terms with the death of her Mother and the belief that she (the child) poisoned and killed her father. A simple and unflattering quick synopsis for a truly beautiful multi layered Spanish film
    10/10

A must for any foreign language film fan's collection.

    Room 237
Hilarious nerd fest about theories on Kubrick's The Shining. The Moon landing theory is bonkers.:D 6/10

The Murderer Lives at 21 (L'ASSASSIN HABITE AU 2) 1942
So so French Comedy/Thriller, very much in the Ealing mould but never quite pulls it off. 6/10

    Blow Out - 1981
As with a lot of 'classic' conspiracy thrillers the plotting and pacing hasn't aged well at all and the female lead is dated and simple.
Some nice moments, mainly the staging of the crash but the film struggles to hold a believable narrative in plot and characters actions and reactions.
    6/10

Identity Thief - wasn't expecting much due to the scathing reviews but I liked it alot. Good chemistry between the leads and Jason Bateman never seems to dissapoint in these kind of movies. 7/10

Could someone help me out please? In the credits at the end, someone is credited as playing the doctor - can't remember any doctor in this.

I enjoyed it but found it confusing in parts. Probably need to watch it again.

    1930's Set in China.

    Catherine Deneuvre and Vincent Perez.

I urge every woman to watch this movie. The male lead is absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous.

Film a little slow but good.

I'm not able to answer your question, but it's credited as Ted Raimi, who is the directors brother.

Perhaps it was a deleted scene or something, and he just kept the credit in as it was his brother?!

I didn't watch much of the film myself but thought I'd look this up anyway. As the poster above me said, it was a cameo role for director Sam Raimi's brother Ted. Apparently he can be heard speaking to Clay in one scene but isn't shown on camera.

It's very long, but held my attention throughout. Very violent, as I expected. But there's a lot of tongue-in-cheek humour to balance things up. Christopher Waltz steals the acting honours in my opinion, Jamie Foxx is rather one dimensional. Leonardo DiCaprio appears to enjoy himself as a rather pantomime villain, and there's an hilarious performance from Samuel L.Jackson gurning away as an UncleTom figure.
Does what it says on the tin really, very enjoyable.

The Longest Day - Which I'd seen many times before, but not lately. Some good scenes, but also some ridiculous ones that had me laughing for the wrong reasons.

Apart from John Wayne's awful performance, the worst scene involved Rod Steiger as a destroyer captain delivering a terrible po-faced speech.

    The Driver

A near-silent Ryan O'neal plays cat-and-mouse with vainglorious cop Bruce Dern in excellent, moody late 70's wheelspinner. There's a touch of the existentials amidst the thrilling chases, and a sublime switcheroo ending too. A fine film indeed. 8/10

    Dredd

Surprisingly good comic book bludgeoner that owes more to old school exploitation than modern, flash-edit action (which I feared). Karl Urban's occasionally wobbly accent aside, our two trapped Judges make an engaging team as they plough through the heavies. Far better than its uber-flop reputation suggests, and more would be welcome. 7/10

    Horsemen

Did you know it's parental neglect that will bring about the apocalypse? Oh yes. Trite, low budget Se7en-alike that wastes its few points of interest in favour of standard tv-movie plot turns. Dennis Quaid - has it come to this? 5/10

Great movie from Walter Hill. Apparently it was originally written for Steve McQueen and it certainly shows in the script. But O'Neal is really good in a rare tough guy role for him.

    The Thieves

Not a bad caper film from South Korea. The first hour is kind of like watching OCEAN 11 where a group of thieves get together to rob a casino of a $20 million necklace. The second hour is about revenge and double-cross. Sometimes this film doesn't know what it wants to be. Fun? Dramatic? Comedic? Regardless of what they were striving for I still enjoyed it. You can watch it on Netflix (video streaming).

    Murder Ahoy! 7/10

Great wee murder mystery farce with the incomparable Margaret Rutherford.
She really is a joy to watch. Fab supporting cast also including Lionel Jeffries and Derek Nimmo though a very young Nicholas Parson's almost stole the show as the extremely brusque doctor. I loved it!

Gattaca - One of the most underrated sci-fi films of the last 20 years.

    9/10

Oz: The Great and Powerful - A fine kids movie though unremarkable. The story is rather plodding which is only held up by James Franco's performance.

    5/10
