Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone)
John Hawkes (The Sessions)
Rachel Weisz (The Deep Blue Sea)
Me too...
Daniel Day Lewis - Lincoln
Denzel Washington - Flight
Hugh Jackman - Les Miserables
Bradley Cooper - Silver Linings Playbook
Joaquin Phoenix - The Master
Yep, you're right...just been adjusted!
Apologies...but we're all human!:o
Yay for Anne, Hugh and Les Mis too.
I can't see how Jessica Chastain is nominated for Zero Dark Thirty - she wasn't that great IMO.
Naomi Watts deserves it for The Impossible.
Real shame that Samuel L. Jackson was overlooked for Django Unchained, even though Christoph Waltz was very good as well.
I think Jessica is just living off last years glory being supporting in 5 well received movies and now this is her first leading role.
I wouldn't mind Naomi or Jennifer getting it.
Completely agree
Well the director of said musical-turned-movie hasn't been nominated either. And the Supporting Actress nominated for that movie was in both!
These would be my two favourites aswell
Amour for best film, Beasts of the Southern Wild for best Direction.
(NONE of this will happen, lol!)
I had the same thoughts. Some of their decisions never compute with me though.
I'd like to see Joaquin Phoenix win Best Actor.
Haneke/Amour - get in!
Couldn't agree more. She is an amazing actress but she has and likely will do a hell of a lot better.
I agree with the Academy on this. The Master is a very flawed movie, but containing some fantastic performances.
yes, i agree, it's not a great film but has several great performances. I think it's been fairly rewarded.
