Can't have been THAT humiliating if you've now seen fit to draw attention to it to folks who otherwise would never have even known anything about it.
People on their forums knew str8 away cos I'm sure the location of the incident was mentioned in a magazine and I was a regular on these boards. I kept shtum about it to my family, but a few members found out, which wasn't nice either. I remember that day, I had met up with 2 other forum members. It was at Edinburgh airport, McFly had flown in because they were doing Live 8 at Murrayfield, 2 days before the 7/7 terrorist attacks. The reason I put it on here, was to make people aware of how they actually treat someone who actually contributed to their very fat bank accounts, you kind of need fans to make it big!
I'm a very different person now, believe me. I may have been a confused soul back then, but I'm very different now. I'm way more mature. That thread from 2005 was me trying to make something good out of a shit situation. I had almost forgotten that I had ever liked McFly until it was all brought back to me, and I've been through many more important events in my life since then.
It does sound as though you are resurrecting something to gain sympathy though. Nobody needed to know who that person was. If it was so embarrassing, wouldn't it be better to just 'bury' it?
Me resurrecting? McFly are the ones who are doing the resurrecting, heck, that incident must be a very defining moment in their careers if they actually felt the need to mention it in their autobiography, 7.5 years after it happened! Speaking of which, whatever is the world coming to when people in their mid-20's actually write an autobiography? I thought you needed to have been in the business for far longer to get to that stage or achieved something pretty significant, or actually have an interesting story to tell, there we have 4 guys about the same age as me who have written a few mediocre pop albums in about 8 years, are most popular for being "pretty boys" been in and out of rehab and recently needed reality TV to resusitate their flagging careers. Bizarre if you ask me! I don't need sympathy from anyone on here, heck, i can vouch for myself no bother! It's just a case of making people aware of what they're REALLY like, cos no doubt people will have watched shows like Surprise Surprise, Pride of Britain Awards, Comic Relief etc and thought "awwwww what a charming group of lads!" when I can actually stand up and say "er, no they're not!" cos I have the life experience!
unless you recall the pwl era from the eighties this will not mean much to you...
At the time I my father was an ex school mate of Pete waterman and very freindly with the family.Being such a fan of the hit factory I got to hang round the studios loads, and attend the roadshows etc.
Kylie, was very sweet and kind she was once at pwl and about to go out and shop for clothes for a photo shoot,it was pouring down with rain and she said "Ive ordered a cab,you look bored sat here fancy coming for a shop? There was a place all the celebs at the time went to called Hyper Hyper.
We walked round chatting like best freinds and she even bought me a shirt I recall.Amongst the pile of stuff she bought was a gold net like dress,Couldnt believe it when I saw her wearing it on the cover for "step back in time"!
Sinitta, again great giggly always up to mischeif.Although she used to have blazing rows with her mother who went everywhere with her.
Bananarama, very dry but hillarious sense of humour. Also got the impression they thought their own music was rubbish.
Sonia, came to my birthday party and burnt her top on my cooker not realsing the ring was still on.
Hazell dean, just like talking to an old freind. After club shows she would hang out with the audeince for hours.
Mandy Smith, bitchy and plastered in make up.
Jason Donovan,Liked him swore like a trouper, just got the feeling he was a bit ungratefull for his music career, like he should have been Bono or something..

I read the book, and it proved that they were actually very worthy of having one, imo. It showed how much they've been through, individually and as a band, and how hard they've worked for 10 years.
Your mention was just a sentence or two - don't get me wrong, it must be horrible for you, but it's not exactly like you had an entire chapter centred around the incident, which I think kind of echoes how they must see the situation; a flippant, funny story. As others have said, if they'd seen it from your perspective (and it is insensitive of them not to have considered it previously) they'd probably have a very different outlook on what happened. To be honest, I just saw it as a light-hearted, funny story myself until I read your viewpoint of it - there's no way that I or they could have known that you don't laugh about it now.
I'm not sure it's fair to say they're categorically not nice, charming people to anybody at all because of your single negative experience. I doubt the amount of positive things I've heard about them in the past (some of them on this thread) were total lies. I doubt any of us know what they're "really" like, or any other celebrity for that matter. I just tend to base my opinion on the majority's experiences.

I can understand that, Harr. Im sorry that you had that negative experience but honestly reading that article, to me, they are the ones that come across badly not you. I am surprised as I thought they were quite decent lads but the way they behaved sounds a little nasty. I could understand at the time they were young and too immature to behave sensitively about the situation but now they are grown up I would think they could have more sense than to repeat that story.

Actually thought the autobiography was released at a great time, just when they're reaching 10 years in the industry. A long time in the music business!
They've also been nothing but nice whenever I've met them, and yes I do think they're a charming group of lads. Yes they upset you, but Its something you really need to put behind you, it shouldn't be worrying you now. I can't remember reading when or where the incident happened in the book, so like I mentioned before it could have been anyone - whos to say it hasn't happened several times?
An actress whose name could be lost in translation is not very nice. Her security guard told me that she was a complete nightmare and he wasn't even allowed to look at her. He said that he couldn't wait for the job to be over.
I happened to meet her on the road driving a big Audi 4x4 and even though there was a passing place right behind her, she refused to move point blank and I had to reverse for ages, when she them proceeded to almost run me off the road. Without even a wave of thanks.

I'm sure you were 'scarlett' in the face after this, right?

Exactly - and I loathe that cringeable advert she is in for D&G The One. She does all her own stunts - even the lovemaking?? Really?? So she has shagged all her co-stars on set??

Read through the chapter "Girls Allowed" it's in there. Of course it doesn't worry me NOW, cos I'm now able to realise it wasn't my fault and that people like that are just not worth it. Wasn't that easy for me back then though, as I idolised them and thought the absolute world of them. Plus it's a chance to defend myself to those people who may have read the book and thought "that poor male fan, he must have been a right wierdo"

I really don't mean to be rude but your dialogue is really taking this thread off topic, time after time.
Would be grateful if you could take your discussions to PM, please?

That makes her no better than a paid **** if true,

I've read a fair bit that make out she's not very kind/nice & a bit stuck up, who knows whether it's true. Certainly sounds an inconsiderate driver from your experience, how rude
Thank you! This is one of the best threads on here, I don't like to see it highjacked.
Been following this thread for quite some time now.
I get emails each time something is posted and on the last, I don't know how many occasions, I follow the link to find the ongoing conversation about McFly.
Don't mean to be at all rude but it's frustrating to come on here to see the ongoing 'side' conversation
Do some celebs really stipulate 'no eye contact', and if they do how can they possibly justify it to themselves? Do they read about others doing this on their way up the fame ladder and decide that it is a cool thing to demand?
I think they should all be named and shamed - not to mention mocked and pilloried.

I totally agree with you.
I also find it amusing when these 'stars' only communicate with us 'commoners' through their PAs, I mean WTF?
It's only if people pander to their whims that they get off with it. If most of us didn't give a flying wotsit their attempts at self-aggrandizement wouldn't get very far.

I agree. It happened when they were much younger and probably immature. It's the kind of thing you would expect young lads to laugh about, but they seem to have matured since then, and to be fair, they never named anyone.

You have no right telling people where to continue their discussions on a public forum
I didn't, I made a polite request.
The posts are off topic now :-)
