I don't actually mind them, they're much better than the last few Orange adverts, and you can kind of tune out of these because there's no annoying jingle or song accompanying it. The Sweeney Orange Ad was absolutely dire.

They're not meant to be 'funny'; they're mean to be memorable, therefore job done...

I think they're alright, thankfully they're changing them every two months or so.
At least they're not as bad as things like Orange Rio! :D

Safe to say he probably doesn't have the slightest clue what he's saying in those ads.

Well, he looks haggard for a reason - he lost his entire fortune in a Ponzi scam, hence the reason he's been reduced to doing adverts for cash.

I always found it strange when he started talking about Coronation Street, Kevin Bacon talking about "Ken Barlow" and "The Rovers" just didn't sound right at all for some reason.

Indeed. An odd, rather sad spectacle. But needs must, presumably.

IIRC, Bacon may well be playing himself in a film about the Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme rip-off.

I also though he looked really rough in the ads at the cinema, the one where he's playing his old characters. Not so much in the TV ones but he looks fine in The Following, it's strange.

How do you expect him to look like? He was in original Friday 13th ffs as a grown teenager then!
The adverts, I like the connections. I like Kevin Bacon the Actor.
Why penalise him for starring in some advert, whilst making himself some money out of it?

Because it's god-awful and a blight on humanity, that's why.

    Exaggerate much?

Anyways, he probably looks a little old on the ads because he's no spring chicken anymore and the point is they want him to just be Kevin Bacon in the ads.
He looks a little better in the Following because he's playing a part, a character - you know that thing that actors do, so he's probably got a fair amount of make-up on and a decent hair cut.
    It ain't rocket science.

Unnecessary sarcasm and stating the bleeding obvious, much?

I think they're rubbish because he's not even making proper links between things.
It could have been quite clever how they linked different people and programmes together, but it wasn't.

Are all the rich celebs in adverts down on their luck?

i agree about the links, the six degrees of bacon, they don't work. i'm sure with a bit of effort they could have come up with something better/clever/funny.

i know he's older now, it isn't that he looks older, it's that he just looks kind of tired.. especially, as someone pointed out, in the one where he's playing older characters.

I actually quite like them. :D They're funny, memorable, and you don't expect Kevin Bacon to be going on about Coronation Street do you?

Probably not but I do find it funny when there's a flash of excitement in his eyes as he says "Helen Daniels in Neighbours"!

The bit where he says "I JUST WANNA DANCE!" cracks me up everytime for some reason:o:D

Whoever thought it'd be a good idea to have that bloody "Boom, boom, boom, everybody say way-oh" song on that advert deserves a special place in hell.

I'm fed up of seeing the Puss In Boots sight/hearing impaired ad.
