Yes it is so true! Imelda Marcos, Madame Mao, and Samira Jassim are all personal heroines of mine whoose good deeds and moral actions I try to follow in my own life.
I agree, less likely to binge drink and be overweight too.
I find that very odd! I'm yet to see a single overweight oriental woman, it's very unusual according to my teacher who's lived in Japan before and is married to a Japanese man.
The only overweight oriental woman I've seen before is Kathreya of BB9

Well I can find you plenty in London, wouldn't be too hard either.
What with apparently intelligent people stooping to using Yappy-isms and all....
Some things can bring out the yappy in anyone, I'm even half-regretting making this post because it just prolongs this depressing thread. I was kind of hoping it was just a bad dream

I think the percentages are much less, I haven't met many either.

I have. There are lots of southeast Asian students here, and some of them are quite large. Not morbidly obese, but overweight.
Just what i was thinking :P as a muslim woman who dosent wear a burka and if she had a husband he would get his dinner over his head if he tried to make me "obey him" i can say some of us are a mixture of good and bad certainly not the docile thai, schoolgirlish japanese or burka wearing doormats or sari wearing women who just get pregnant and stay barefoot in the kitchen cooking curry! "asian" covers off so many ideas its undefinable really.
I have a fair few Pakistani and Indian friends who are Muslim, Sikh, Hindu. In all the cases of my friends, the women in their family are anything but docile! Loads of the guys are frankly crap-scared of their moms and I find it hilarious.
I used to live in a predominately Asian area and you'd see these women giving their husbands absolute hell in Tesco. You don't need to speak Urdu, Farsi or Hindi to recognise a bollocking when you hear it. I remember being at a Market and I accidentally hit my son in the head when reaching for something. He got annoyed at me and was moaning that I hit him when a young Pakistani guy on the stall said "so what if she hit you, she's your mum! My mum still hits me!" The guy was in his early 20s.
I don't deny there are Asian women that are horribly mistreated. Stereotyping is silly and dangerous.

A couple of posters always rush to the muslim threads under the guise of "standing up for" the women they see as "mistreated" yet they have no issue with the mistreatment of women at any other time. I was raised for the first 10yrs in Iran and even there the women control the homelife and what goes on behind closed doors within that home, rarely is it the boot licking, continious serving, being slapped about stereotype some would like to put on asian women so they can "save" them.
An Indian girl at my school had her own "Film" so OP you are just a saddo behind a computer.
Not at all. I started the thread out of interest and it seems that from the earliest comments some people couldn't even understand the question correctly and some took it off topic almost immediately.
Since this is a British based forum I would've thought it was pretty obvious about which type of women I refered to as here in Britain we tend to refer to Asians as Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, British Asians.
Some people coudn't seem to figure out if I was refering to Chinese, Japanese women as well who whilst from Asia are not normally refered to as Asians in this country.
It could've been an interesting thread if it wasn't for some idiots - sorry to those of you who did make sensible comments.
Comments
If it's not women, it's men, or religion, or some other group.
Today just seems worse, maybe it's me:(

To quote 'The Fun Boy Three' from 1981 :
"The lunatics have taken over the asylum"
IIRC There was/is Ska festival over the weekend, Neville Staples name was mentioned.
Just a side note for any Londoners.
Lord knows.

Careful you could be consulting yappy on a legal matter in the years to come.
I'd rather ask my spaniel TBH.
