i know nothing about tablets, i pads and such like, please help!!

  A tablet won't play a DVD, so I guess you are looking for a netbook with internal DVD drive.
  Some of the ee PCs have them I think.

  probably not an easy thing to find, they've all got slimmer in last few years & probably dumped the dvd (optical) drives...can still get external dvd drives that plug in by usb .... there's probably a way of streaming from dvd to a tablet/netbook

  They tend to be a bit under-powered as a species, with not very good screens.
  Perhaps a 13" or 15" laptop would be better?
