Wuthering Heights. Nets Kate loads of PRS money from classic compilations. BOM gets a little PRS money from being on Graham Norton's I Can't Believe It's Not Better slot.
OK we get it. Kate Bush better than Brotherhood of Man shocker.
I used to read all of the music papers in 1978, I don't remember them dismissing Kate Bush as a one-hit-wonder like they seem to be telling us here
I think there was a bit of WTF going through people's minds when Wuthering Heights was released.. but when she followed up wht Babooshka, Man with the Child In His Eyes etc...
Elvis' live performance here undermines the urban myths about the show being all miming that was said again earlier tonight. Agreed thatmost did mime but it was possible to perform live if you insisted.

She came in for a bit of ribbing at the time...
Actually yeah, I recall at school the next day everyone saying "what the F**k was THAT?"

Well the track was released at her very own insistance. The powers that be did not want it to be, and never expected it to be a hit. She had the coup de grace though. Great for someone so young.
Not sure how history now judges Bob Geldof either musically, or in the bigger picture after all that followed to make him a Saint almost. To be honest I think many would have liked to rip his picture in half by the end of 1985 also!

ETA Sue looks bloody gorgeous.
It's the first time I've had to hit the mute button (and I even endured Figaro). Absolutely bloody hate Grease. Horrible horrible horrible.
They actually said that, much of the press at the time were writing her debut off as a novelty one hit wonder.
It is not thwt they are say now.
'Man With the Child in His Eyes' was my favourite of her songs.
Pete Briquette.
Me. It's my favourite song of theirs. Great lyrics.
