In your opinion what phone has the best camera/video.
I have a Blackberry Curve and have to say it's pretty dire by todays standards

Yep, another vote for the S3. Have to admit it's a lot better than I thought it would be.
That leaves the iPhone 5/ GS4/ Sony Xperia Z and HTC One as the best of the current crop of devices. None of these will let you down so it depends what phone you want to be attached to your camera.
If you're talking current phones, I'd say the Galaxy S4 though, seriously impressed with that.
Although there is a Nokia that is claiming to have the best camera (even in low light). I think there is a link to it on the main DS page to their advert?

Also a comparison between the Nokia and the HTC One camera:

So I'm insane?
I have no problems listening to music, making calls, playing games, browsing facebook, uploading images to facebook, browsing the web, etc. etc. on my 808.
Heck, I even prefer browsing on the 808 (using opera mobile) over my iPhone 4S. Although thats down to Safari on the 4S being a complete and utter UI disaster, and the 4S screen being way too small.
Interesting that you state that those others will "never let you down", which is something they will do if you rely on them as a camera. Unless you don't mind regular blurrycam rubbish images.
What an odd statement.
very odd statement indeed.
there is a review from a few weeks ago of a guy using it as his main phone.

he seems to disagree with you.
But nobody was interested. apart from me:

i maintain my ageing N8 is difficult to beat.
GSM arena have a neat little tool:

they take the same pictures with every phone they test and you can compare them.
Very interesting.Thanks
The N8 deserves a mention too. I often look back with great fondness at some of the family photos I captured on that phone. Unfortunately, the phone itself didn't have the specs to do it justice.
Other notable phones with decent cameras are the iPhone 5 and the S4.
Not sure on others.
Holy thread resurrection batman!
If you're after still image quality, the 808 has the advantage of a better lens and sensor than seen in the 1020. Additional image processing can help improve the 1020, but it still won't equal the 808 .... but its purely academic as the 808 hasn't been made in how long? And with Nokia dropping the app store on Symbian at the end of this year ....
it's a real shame nokia lost their shit because they can still do some things that nobody else can.
Is it???? That is a surprise, would have thought that the 1520 would have had it beaten by now (new clever display tech that improves contrast, etc.).
I know that mine now officially sucks for contrast, as you have to look through the cracks in the screen, which is now held together by a screen protector. I could send it off for repair, but I have absolutely no faith in what remains of Nokia these days.
they may not have tested the 1520 yet.
but scroll down to the bar chart on this review of the N5

how could they claim a brightness of zero and come up with a ratio of 5:1
