I suppose it depends whether it is big enough to kill you before your body heat melts to a size that you can breath again, so i doubt it.

and yes your right it was weird question!!

In reality you could choke to death on just about anything, if that thing is choking you and you cannot recover in time then it will kill you.

That sounds about right. I was thinking along similar lines but I couldn't really express it very well with words. Thankfully, you've done it for me.

I can just see it now, fingers down the throat trying to retrieve an ice cube, tears streaming down your cheeks as you're coughing and spluttering half to death. I know I'll open the cupboard, find a mug, fill the kettle with water, plug it in switch it on, grab a teabag, some milk, oopppps no to late I'm dead!!!

I did read a silly 'joke' once about if you're choking on ice, you should pour boiling hot water down your throat - problem solved!

    I wouldn't advise it, however.

if you could swallow it then i think it would melt enough fast enough. if someone rammed a giant cube down your throat with a stick then perhaps not.

Me too, especially as it's happened to me twice and I thought my end had come each time. My life literally flashed by through my mind.

Once it was caused by Battenburg cake and once was cheese, as I mentioned on several old threads about this topic.

I've never experienced anything as scary in my entire life, and it makes me go cold remembering it.

but would you die of a brain freeze from the ice cube!!!

it could be an evil slow way to die in the end - and very embarassing.
