Been following this saga on Twitter
It seems he forgot his glasses when he went to USA
got his secretary to send 'em FedEX
the food / drug agency have them for processing, they demand all sorts of technical information
He can't get glasses over there, as they won't accept a Uk prescription, he would need to go through eye test again etc

To be fair to FEDEX the delay of my glasses delivery is not their fault. It is US Customs or Food/Drug people who have no common sense
