If anything that could offend was banned, there'd be very little left.

This is a bit like a room 101 type discussion.

If it was me I'd like to see hairdresser cars banned.

There's always someone that's offended by anything you can think of. Basically you'd have to ban everything.

I find myself being offended by people who find stuff offensive....so lets just ban being offended and job done (pity it'll cause the daily mail to go under but hey :) )

Its best to have free speech and lots of people being offended, rather than the state dictating what can and cannot be said.

Why, what are you dying to say that you can't but that you could before?

Care to explain? Do you mean DS or society in general?

No, I don't think things should be banned because some people find them offensive (or, as is more often the case, when they dislike something and wrongly describe that as offense).

That said, anything that is only there to deliberately cause offence is a different matter, that kind of act should be stopped.

What if you were offended by people banning things? Would that be banned?

I don't, on the whole, like banning, control freakery or knee-jerkiness. That said, they're welcome to stay around in small doses.

Every person alive has the capacity to offend someone. How do you ban offensive people?

    Industrial Death camps?

Stephen Fry sums it up well.

'It's now very common to hear people say, "I'm rather offended by that", as if that gives them certain rights. It's no more than a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. "I'm offended by that." Well, so f***ing what?' —Stephen Fry

Me too, people speaking on my behalf, or banning things incase they cause offence really annoys me.
