Right now she is standing outside Dowling street and looks and sounds as if she needs warming up. Is there need for the BBC to send their journalists out in the cold all because of a horrid old woman.

    I'm surprised at the content of this thread as usually when I see Jane Hill discussed it's about her massive norks.

    I never understand why hacks have to stand outside Westminster as well, especially as they can either do it from the lobby or the studios they have there.

    Quite often the sound is rubbish, for some reason the idiots who work in the 'meeja' seem to think we need to be 'entertained' whilst being told a story. We don't.

    It's similar to the argument about the news helicopters being thrown-up, often for no good reason.

    And it also gives an unwelcome opportunity for some plank with an axe to grind to stand behind them waving a dirty great plackard about.
