In your opinion maybe but even by listening to them, I find them more enjoyable than some stories and New series episodes that I can watch and that's all that matters.

i cant see how missing stories that people have not seen can be counted in polls like this.ok the novels and soundtracks can give an idea of what the programmes were like but thats it.as an example before it was found tomb of the cybermen was the all time classic best thing since sliced bread dr who story of all time.after it turned up and people saw some of the storys production problems its reputation declined.people still enjoy the story but it is not as fondly thought of now its readily available on dvd.

Does it really matter on threads like this? People's opinions are not counting towards any poll, all they are doing is stating their top ten stories. And that is all that matters. What they think. If they choose to like a missing story over an existing story, it really is upto them.

Personally speaking, I found Tomb of The Cybermen better on watching it on video. It really is down to personal taste.

Even by listening to the missing stories, you can tell whether a story is good or not. This is helped by the many telesnaps available which give you a rough idea of how the story looked, so really, I don't see where the problem is in listing missing stories in any poll. In a complete list of stories they can't all be at the bottom of the list because they are missing. As I said previously a lot of them are better than stories you can watch. I mean, would you seriously rate Paradise Towers, Timelash and The Twin Dilemma higher than The Power Of The Daleks, the Web Of Fear or even The Abominable Snowmen? Would you? Really? Those stories even in audio form are better than the three stories that I mentioned.

    :)

No love for 'The Brain of Morbius'?

Tombs reputation didn't come from the soundtrack which was released after the video or the recons which didn't exist or the novelisation which isn't one of the more highly regarded Target books, it came from the great gods of Doctor Who fandom who told us what the greatest stories were. The same with the low reputation of the Gunfighters which didn't even get a VHS release until 2002.

As long as people are listening and making up their own minds the soundtracks are perfectly acceptable - after all as Daveyboy has said its possible to find listening to something like Marco Polo more enjoyable than watching many other stories.
