This looks really good - it's got Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper in it.

Seriously though, the film trailer duped me into thinking it was a new Baran bo Odar film until the credits. I was really surprised to see it was a Derek Cianfrance film. Their directorial styles are strikingly similar. Yay. I think I'll enjoy The Place Beyond the Pines.
Very different to how it's portrayed in the trailers which is not necessarily a bad thing but I did think that the final section of the movie was a little bit weak & disappointing.
Overall though I enjoyed this a lot so it gets a 7/10 from me...
I don't mind
I am gutted that it isn't released in my local cinema or the one a town over either - from the trailer I really wanted to see this, it looked to be interesting. I would have watched this Timothy Green and Oblivion now I might give the cinema a miss this weekend.
Yes, apparently there's only 80 prints for the entire country according to the Cineworld Twitter (they have 20 and have spread them around their most popular cinemas to maximise potential profits). Apparently if the film does well then it might receive a wider release in the next few weeks.
MASSIVE SPOILER AHEAD, DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU! Seriously, don't read this until you've seen the film:
Hoping for a lot of people going to watch it then
I don't think it's that they don't have faith in the film or anything, it think it's more likely that the distributors are trying out the US tactic of giving something a limited release to try and build word of mouth and make the film into a "must see" before expanding it's release. It's worked quite well recently in the US, particularly for Silver Linings Playbook which opened in only a handful of theatres before expanding to a nationwide release a few weeks later and is now nearly at $130 million in domestic Box Office takings.
It's annoying for people who don't live near one of those 80 cinemas that are currently showing it, but if it does well then it should get a wider release in the next few weeks (i was at a 22:20 showing last night and it was surprisingly busy for a showing at that time, so hopefully it does well enough to warrant the expansion).
I thought Ryan was very good - I haven't seen him anything other than The Notebook, and Bradley was fantastic
I now understand what you mean
