Luke Friend - Better in live shows than most people thought he'd be?!

So, with two live shows down, and a lot more to go, has Luke Friend performed better than you thought he originally would? I'm more speaking in terms of his version of 'Let Her Go' (which was pretty good) rather than 'Every Breath You Take'. If he carries on, will he do better than, say, coming 9th (which alot of people predicted before the live shows) ?
Believe me, he's not even my favourite but, the performance last week has made me think there is potential

Infamous Aiden-hater , you never like any of the acts I like .
I've loved Luke since his audtion, lovely raspy tone to his voice and watching back on his youtube stuff - he clearly has so much passion when he songs.
I'm sorry. We just don't have the same taste but I think Luke is awful but I can concede not as awful as Aiden.
I think he'd work better in a band than as a solo act - a proper band not a boyband.
Still think he'll be the first boy to go and has bought himself a couple of extra weeks at most.
If he did some more folk-y rock songs (which, not wanting to judge based on his looks, but..., I think would be more to his taste as well) like James Taylor, Donovan, even Neil Young (but in a different pitch of course) then he would absolutely shine I reckon.
Luke is just an average singer with dirty hair. Absolsutely nothing to write home about.
that still puts him above half the other acts left
Not anymore- hes washed his hair http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-10-25/x-factor-2013-luke-friend-washes-his-hair---and-he-wants-nicole-scherzinger-to-sniff-it
Nice VT material!
What is the deal with his hair? Hair is self-cleaning and if you don't wash it it looks fab, but it takes perseverance as you need to avoid shampoo for a couple of months before the natural oils balance out.
Shame he's washed it, I guess it's the influence of that dreadful old dear Walsh, wanting Luke to be just the same as every other Justin Beiber wannabe.
Seconded. Flat as a pancake and can't hold a note for longer than about two seconds.
They categorically were not.
