Gutted they sacked Dave so close after the rebrand, I always thought his show sounded too good to last though.I guess it will be replaced by more robo-jocks with the daytime playlist now.
Good that Dave got a new gig straight away though!

Where have you heard he's been sacked? The article doesn't indicate this.

Just can't imagine he'd leave a (likely) higher paid London/national networked show for a local show on a smaller station voluntarily? Not as high profile surely?
Very true! Kiss 100 is the best CHR station.
I've listened to Kiss and Capital and Kiss beats Capital on every level.
The music, the presenters and the imaging!
The imaging is where Kiss kills Capital. T
he branded intros, station edits and promos are much better.
In an interview I watched with Dave Foxx from Z100, he said the imaging should be a little faster paced then the music the station plays, and Capital seem to be doing the opposite. IMO, they need a package like the new XFM one.
The Kiss imaging does seem a lot more polished, they know they are competing with Capital London more now than ever.
I would suggest that Dave was fed up with having his show pushed back to 11 and finish in the middle of the night, he wants to do a certain kind of radio that he probably wasn't allowed to do , it's not always about the numbers (money/audience )

Bingo. Overnights is not the nicest shift for some people.
Yep, that's right - I was aware of the problems they had selling the 'Galaxy' brand to advertisers, but I do remember Ashley Tabor giving this second reason also.
It's a shame London can't have its own station anymore. The rhythmic formats of the other Galaxy licences bring the 95.8FM output down in standard I think and dilutes it. Hit music is never going to stay r'n'b/hip hop forever, and if it does change, Capital are sunk as they can't play it and will have to rely on Ofcom letting them weasel out of their format.
They haven't thought of that as they are too busy seeing ££££ passing their eyes:rolleyes:
Kiss play R'N'B and hiphop, but know the music changes now and again and will play more general commercial dance new and old in it's place.

Hmnn leaving capital for city must be a pay and profile drop?
Excuse the well worn analogy but I would say Dave is moving from being a small fish in a big pond to being a big fish in a small pond (once he establishs himself of course).
Radio City is of course a smaller station than Capital FM. However it's still a big station in Liverpool. I would imagine there would be a greater opportunity to explore more off-air work then Dave would ever get at Capital especially on his current hours.
When I was a regular listener to City the presenters were regularly plugging gigs and events they were going to do and talking about them afterwards. If Dave gets it right (and I'm sure he will) he could make a bit of name for himself in Liverpool.

I've only heard him briefly (nice to hear a Northampton accent on the radio!) but judging by posts on here now and in the past, he was highly regarded and popular.

Also, nice views of the city from the top of the tower.
Good move for Dave - whatever way you look at it 11pm - 3am is an overnight shift - he's better than that. And on another note, Capital's production is nowhere near as good as Kiss, not helped by an mvo who sounds like a creepy old man.
I personally think it maybe Luke Smith however i feel either of those would be wasted on overnights. Of course it maybe one of those ex Galaxy ones who are currently not on the network (possibly Adele Roberts or Christian Williams)?

Christian does Sunday breakfast down here and Adele does Sunday breakfast in Yorkshire so I would doubt it, but then again......

For the record I usually listen to Glen and Lorna on Real Radio, so that's probably why I'm late to the party. lol.

Why would Capital let him go?
Because he wasn't an automaton?

But it's true - this is what happens when talent is stifled. Dave must have been like a caged lion on Capital FM.

Yeeesss.
Unlikely, Radio 1 have let it be known they only really hire from student radio or TV nowadays.
