Virgin Media customers on the Big Bang or Big Kahuna packages can now pay £150 and get a pass to watch all the SD Sky Sports channels for the next ten months.
HD costs an extra £7 a month.
BT Sport, Eurosport and ESPN are also included.

One game a week in a format that's dying very quickly..

Broadcasters all over the world are now winding down their 3D operations.
Sky tried to increase viewership of Sky 3D by removing the requirement to subscrbe to everything and opening up more of it's programming to people on the various packs.
There has now been speculation that Sky will start to wind down the channel following their decision to make it a part time channel on most days of the week.
The only company that I'm aware of that has shown any sort of commitment to the future of 3D is actually Virgin Media! They said that they aim to grow their 3D offerings and will do this via VOD.

Although it doesn't appear to include the fact that you have to pay a £7 a month fee for the Sky Sports & Movies in HD, which I assume is included in the Sky pack?
To get Sky Sports HD though Sky, you need the HD Pack (£5.25/month, and only available on top of the £33 Family Bundle).

A shame that Virgin didn't include that in the comparison grid. Although they haven't included the phone line rental saver option with Virgin either which would have made Virgin Media look even cheaper.
I'm sure that's a small price to pay.

Sky should expand this to every live Premier League match in 3D
Have a dedicated 3D movie channel on constant rotation of EVERY 3D movies they have rights to.
Film a lot of their entertainment such as nature, documentaries & dance shows etc in 3D
3 separate Sky 3D channels would be best
Sky Sports 3D, best at 407. In between SSF1HD & SS News HD (SS5HD moves to 405)
Sky Movies 3D, best at 302 or 314 (this should be a simulcast of the 2D version) &
Sky Entertainment 3D, best at probably 121 or 122 atm.
Were still in a massive catch 22 with 3D and 4K 3D
which will be 2x HD in each eye and
better frames per second to virtually eliminate motion blur.
Yet you didnt pick up that by them reducing hours they were showing that there is clearly no interest in 3D anymore and that they are winding it down?
It's not a case of "not being bothered", it's the legalities and cost of extending the network (although some small scale extension is taking place).
Of course, those not able to get VM services will not be able to take advantage of this offer and it was obviously only highlighted to alert those that can.

Those that are tired of Skys prices in non VM areas may wish to consider a subscription to beINsports. For what works out at about £7.49 a month, you can watch all EPL/CL matches, Championship and League 1 football, tennis, F1 etc.

As ocav says, this isn't going to happen (as per post number 5).
Although their tv coverage is almost universal, their fibre network doesn't appear to be any more extensive than VM's. Who cares if you can get Sky Sports in 3D if you can't get a decent internet service?
One idea to get the best sports deal is to switch to VM until the offer ends and then go back to Sky as a new customer. Recently discounts as great as 50% off for a year were being handed out to new customers.

So you expect Sky to pay through the nose for extra production costs to be able to go ahead with this silly idea you have and all to be viewed by not even 10,000 viewers?!

If 3D was being taken up by more people then that would be the way it should go, they would have had to create Sky Sports 3D, Sky Movies 3D & Sky Entertainment 3D (perhaps that would have been Sky Atlantic 3D).
But as it is, they are even reducing the hours on the one channel they launched.
Thats my point.
Hardly anyone is interested in it. It costs way to much to produce content in, for little or no viewers.
Its no wonder SO many broadcasters around the world have abandoned it. Broadcasters refusing to produce major events in 3D, because of the lack of interest and massive costs involved for little viewing.
But some will not hear this and beat that tired old drum to the point of breakage...
Interesting how Sky compete with it.
Sky said this year or last year that in 2 or 3 years time, Ultra HD/4k boxes will be out or somewhere along the lines of it.
Where does this leave Virgin Media and all the others?
It would be a missive thing for VM if they decide to release Ultra HD/4k box before Sky.
I'm thinking of going to Virgin for a year, and then moving back to Sky for a new customer deal.
Sky don't even run proper adverts on the 3D channel cause there isn't any 3D adverts available (except a Planet of the Apes one which looks fantastic in 3D)

My initial contract and all subsequent recontracts have been for 12 months.
