I think when you've followed Lana for a while you realise one of the fun things about her is literally anything can happen. I would keep your eyes on the various bits of web news out there over the next few weeks and just see what happens. You usually know something is on the way as she quite often releases "trailers" and snippets of songs and then suddenly out of nowhere her next epic release is here.
I wouldn't get too hung up on the date the press are quoting as her label don't always stick to dates she quotes. Lets just call it around about early May and see. She's due to tour America from April onwards so I would say those shows would be be the best bet for when we'll get to hear the new songs.
I loved BTD. Paradise I hated at first but was such a grower and marked huge progression in a short space of time. Along with Tropic fantastic debut into the world of music. So yes expectations are mighty high .
Oh the first date of the US tour is 11th of April (d'oh should have put that in my last post but was a bit too knackered to think on that day, work is a grind). Just repeat it will be worth looking out for whether she plays any of the new songs at that show.
So wow hell yes I think its all happening sooner rather than later!
I'm getting excited I like her ethos all about the music and she usually delivers so hopefully it shapes up to be good . Nothing worse than a follow up that pales in comparision.
I'm so looking forward to her new album. I think she is an amazing artist and her music and voice are magical. Btw, will she be singing in Nadsat on the album? :-D;-)
Who also thinks - West Coast is probably Angels Forever:)
Lana Del Rey
On the west coast there is a saying
Homage to the Hells Angels - they are saying - Angels Forever Forever Angels - AFFA
Wiki
Some members also wear a patch with the initials "AFFA", which stands for "Angels Forever; Forever Angels", referring to their lifelong membership in the biker club (i.e., "once a member, always a member").
Lyrics
Is the sun in your eyes, easy rider? Do the flame colored skies light your fire?
We are heavy metal lions
They will never understand
The kind of people you or I am.
Bow your heads and take your hands.
They were angels forever
Forever angels
They were angels forever
Forever angels
Does the ocean inspire, easy rider?
Do the stars and the wind take you higher? You are California proud
You are angels of the night. Rock and Roll guardians now
The last keepers of the light
They were angels forever
Forever angels
They were angels forever
Forever angels
Paradise is a hot colored flame sky
Is it nice to feel free in love?
Paradise is a game, you have to wonder
I just ride.
They were angels forever
Forever angels
They were angels forever
Forever angels
Ultraviolence - Crime - Hells Angels
The album doesn't refer to Clockwork Orange at all, no, more to the "last Rockers"
We get a Rock album.
"It is absolutely gorgeous - dark then the first, so dark its almost unlistenable and wrong, but I love it!"
"It's a continuation of the last album. A little darker, more psychedelic, more guitars
Love your theory, rbautz, and you could well be correct. Which would be fine with me as Angels Forever (even in demo form) is a superb song (in many ways the continuation of the amazing Ride and almost as good!). From all the little snippets we have been fed so far, this is shaping up to be a hugely anticipated follow up to what, in my opinion, will be seen as an era defining pop album in the years to come (Born To Die).
Lana is truly a massive new talent and the music world is all the richer for her presence in it. If she matches (or even surpasses!) that album's brilliance we just might be witnessing the first steps of a legend (the legendary songwriter/producer Rick Nowells has already predicted Lana will be 'a future legend').
PS The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach seems to the executive producer and this is what he said about the album when asked in an interview with BBC6 Music:
Dan Auerbach: It's a monster. It's a sonic monster. It's beautiful. I can't wait for people to hear it.
BBC: Is it that sort of similar kind of widescreen cinematic feel to it?
Dan Auerbach: It does, but even more so, you know I think a lot of her first record was just kind of, you know, was in the box, recorded, but this is a 7-piece band with her singing live in the studio so there's some kind of, uh, really magic, magical moments that we got to capture on tape, and, uh, you know, the kind of thing that you just can't duplicate with, uh, Pro Tools kind of recording, you know what I mean? It's a different thing for her even though her personality is still definitely there and shines through.
both songs AFFA and VC referring to Nabokov's Lolita
VC
Flame colored paradise for you darling
But death doesn't come with a warning
AFFA
Paradise is a hell-colored flame sky
Is it nice to feel free and wild?
Paradise is the game of do or die
Lolita
Despite our tiffs, despite her nastiness, despite all the fuss and faces she made, and the vulgarity, and the danger, and the horrible hopelessness of it all, I still dwelled deep in my elected paradise — a paradise whose skies were the color of hell-flames — but still a paradise.”
I'm absolutely convinced that Dan did magic on this album, too.
Brill, nice to see hear Fearne Cotton still keeps in touch and has given it the thumbs up! As you point out on the appreciation thread we've always got her to thank for playing Video Games and making it a hit.
Ah I believe gelbma0991 you refer to Lana's Dad Tweeting messages to fans about him going to the West Coast today? Top man Lana's dad, I can see where she gets her mischievous charm from. Possible her sense of humour too when it turns out he just meant he's going on holiday there... haha, we'll see!
And I'll just finish off saying I don't think Velvet Crowbar will be on this album, but it was a rather good unreleased leaked track wasn't it?

I'm certain that. 95% of the tweets comes from Lana herself.

Likewise. I love BTD:Paradise Edition
Me too. I keep meaning to get it on vinyl, along with BTD.

From Born To Die to Born To Be Wild
Would be a very cool way for Angels Forever to resurface as West Coast too!
