The answer as to why people haven't been listened to or spoken until now has been repeated Ad Infinitum. Why on earth should a molester spend the last few years of his life in peace?
Exactly!! Just because molesters (and other people who committed criminal offences) managed to escape justice for so long doesn't mean they're now innocent. I cannot understand the logic that because someone is old, or the crime was such a long time ago, that they should be left in peace! I'm pretty sure that if the people who are calling for the molesters to be 'left in peace' were in a situation where one of their own children had been assaulted by Hall or Saville, they would NOT be saying the perverts should be left in peace. The whole argument is so hypocritical.

I think that alleged perpetrators should be given as much anonymity as the alleged victims. Several of those alleged people were arrested about six months ago and have not been charged yet. I believe they deserve to be tried or released without charge after all this time.

    True:
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10040575/Jimmy-Tarbuck-arrested-over-historic-sex-abuse-allegations.html
The arrest was made following information passed by Metropolitan Police officers working on Operation Yewtree to North Yorkshire Police.
The police stressed that the arrest is not related to Operation Yewtree, although the complaint was first made to the detectives working on the investigation set up following the death of Jimmy Savile in 2011.

I think there are arguments either side of whether or not to name alleged perpertrators but the police do have to be careful, its a very fine line.

Re - arrests, I feel people have to be careful with the wording of such things or you could come to the wrong conclusion by accident. I cringe when I hear the term 'Jimmy Savile police' such as 'so and so has been arrested (or questioned) by the (so called?) Jimmy Savile police' - that conjures disturbing images of policemen in track suits with big cigars jogging around arresting people  its as if they don't take it seriously - why can't they just say its in reltion to Operation Yewtree? some media outlets do but others use silly terms like that. To be fair, I think the press are worse at using such terms than TV. Also I saw last week people posting on here directly linking Roache's questioning with Operation Yewtree, when it was reported that he has nothing to do with Operation Yewtree (though its understandable why people may presume he was linked to it).

This whole scandal/investigation/operation can feel like its been treated like a soap opera, rather than real life, at times, thats seems a bit worrying.

However people who did not commit any crimes years ago are still innocent.

It should be common decency to wait until some corroborated evidence is produced before slinging mud.

It is incredible how many famous people have been 'accused' or 'alleged' or 'charged' with sex offences.

Three Coronation Street actors - including the longest serving soap actor in tv history - William Roache.

    Rolf Harris.

    Max Clifford.

    Dave Lee Travis.

    Freddie Star.

    Jim Davidson.

    And now Jimmy Tarbuck.

I just hope Sooty, Emu and Orville the duck aren't charged next! :D

And six months later for some of them, there has been no resolution; I wish they would be charged or released.

We're living though a very unique moment in time. This is unprecedented. I would like to think most or all of these people are innocent but Stuart Hall - another famous tv personality - denied any wrongdoing but then admitted his guilt.

Quote from today's Daily Telegraph "Mr Tarbuck's agent could not be reached, but the entertainer told the Daily Mail: “I'm not commenting on this. You need to speak to my solicitor."

I wonder why his agent isn't responding? Interesting to note that both Jimmy Tarbuck and Jim Davidson have the same agent: http://www.lauriemansfield.co.uk/clientList.html

Thats not interesting in a suspicious way to my mind, many showbiz people have the same agents , that does not mean they are guilty or they are colluding.

I would imagine his agent feels he need not say anything to the tabloid press

Jimmy Taruck is a Tory so what goes round comes around

So guilt or innocence no longer comes into it its down to who you vote for, that happened in Germany in the 30's and 40's didn't it ?
And there is a tv comedy legend in his seventies being accused.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2316039/Television-comedy-legend-70s-facing-questioning-Savile-police-historic-allegations-sex-abuse.html

Operation Yewtree targeting any faded showbiz star now it seems.

a woman has alleged on Twitter that she is the victim of a celebrity assault.

One wonders if this lady has been to the Polcie or just twitter ?

The person making the allegation against Jimmy Tarbuck was a young boy at that time. I assume the police have made JT's name public because the allegation has some credence, which is what the police do so that any other possible victims will come forward. But that doesn't mean the allegation is true.

I do not think that he has been named by the police, only by the media.

A force spokesman said: "North Yorkshire police can confirm that a 73-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a historic child sex abuse investigation in Harrogate.

"The man was arrested in Kingston upon Thames on Friday 26 April 2013. Following questioning, he was released on police bail pending further inquiries.

"The complaint relates to an incident that occurred in the late 1970s when the victim was a young boy.

Good that CH4 are continuing to explore alleged abuse cases.

It would seem that some in positions of power have possibly still not got the message. Those who are/have been guilty of abusing will hopefully now be outed, regardless of how long ago the abuse took place or where.
