Games such as Fifa, Cod, Assassin's Creed are yearly and i find them fun every year
But is anyone else tired of the incredibly poor argument against them that they are always the same and they never change
Because its not like you can easily write in about 30 seconds the changes between fifa
Fifa 10 - 360 degree control
Fifa 11 - 11 vs 11 online games
Fifa 12 - Tactical defending
Fifa 13 - First touch control
and that is just naming one of the many per games
As for AC and CoD, not changing, what do people want you get a brand new singleplayer campaign and new additions to the multiplayer suites
How much change would be enough to satisfy these god damn moaners

COD - SP = Come round after an explosion/ crash, look at your hands before getting up and shooting people. MP = shoot more people than the other team
Thats it!
But seriously I think it's less to do with the principle of yearly updates and more to do with snobbish so called 'Pro gamer' attitudes to anything popular.
Each to their own, if you don't like them don't play them
As for the yearly improvements 11 V 11? Wow, does that really warrant a new release? 11 v 11 is a disaster I think it still had problems in FIFA 12. Tactical defending is the only major gameplay change they have made in about 5 years.
As for CoD. They do have (or had until old Infinity Ward left) 2 separate dev teams, Old IW would do modern/futuristic and Treyarch would do historical. Both games had distinctive feels about them, you could up until MW2 easily tell them apart. That was ok with gamers, 2 teams meant 2 different games. (ok both FPS but they even used different engines) When old IW left, that meant Treyarch could move into modern/future and that means we will see a FIFA like yearly release with very little separating the game form its previous year. Cod is dying and this will finish it off.
The more it has gone on, the more its about guessing the algorithms, and variables, choose your own adventure questions in the teamtalk sections and less about knowing and loving football, setting up your team and actually PLAYING the game
Burnt out, haven't played the last 2, too many of them.
Should look at ND, 1 game every 2 years and they are excellent
I loved AC1 and bought it on release, I preordered AC2, but by the third AC game release a year after AC2 I was starting to tire and left it a few months, the same thing happened with ACR and I still haven't gotten around to buying AC3 yet.
I was very excited for Uncharted and preordered the game, with a 2 year wait I was excited again for UC2, and again because of the 2 year waits I was still excited about UC3 but after been slightly disappointed with UC3 I am glad the developer has moved onto a new game this time around.
I am currently really excited about GTA5, its been nearly 5years since it released and all we have seen between then and now is a couple of expansion packs for the game which was still 3-4years ago. This has really increased my excitement and anticipation for a new title in the franchise.
Too many titles release too often devalues a franchise to the point were I don't care about it.
1 year turnaround for complete changes and team updates is to much IMHO that is why they always end up rushing the games out requiring an update and then they are still bug ridden.
I have decided to buy FIFA games every 2 years (i skipped last years so will probably pick this years up), with Tiger Woods i only buy them every 3 years and normally will just pick up the odd other sports title as and when
However there is definitely quite a steady improvement year on year; you don't always notice it especially once you've been playing the new one for a while but try going back to FIFA09 and tell me it's the same game as FIFA13.
On the flip side it's too easy for EA; they can churn out whatever they want and it'll sell just as much, leaving them free to concentrate on money making schemes like FUT. The few that decide to switch to PES or not buy anything are replaced by those coming from PES or new to the market. I'd be quite happy if they skipped a year and came back for FIFA15, bug free...
I think this pretty much sums it up. Haven't FIFA sales increased in recent years too? Why change something when it's making you shed loads of cash, EA have share holders etc. they're not Valve.
At the end of the day, I dont't think there has been a single FIFA game that has been truly 'bad' recently.
Sorry but what's ND?
Naughty Dog, the studio behind Uncharted and the forthcoming The Last Of Us.
I wondered if he meant Naughty Dog but thought I'd check incase he was referring to a game
