    Very impressive.

Yes............I wasn't keen when she was lobbing along at the back of the field but he obviously knew what he had and she demolished them when he 'pressed the button'

Lots of racing today but nothing much to write home about - mostly low grade stuff, over here in the UK anyway, bit better in Ireland

Popular hurdler/chaser 'Fair Along' has died of colic

He was only a little 'un but in his pomp he was a doughty front runner............just below top class, he won four Grade 2 races and was a regular at the big meetings

Just had a peak at tomorrows card and there are 3 all weather meetings !..............

isn't it ridiculous that the turf season has started and there are 3 all weather meeings and none on turf

They must have idiots planning the fixture list..................:p

I've noticed Mick Quinn is on Talksport........I've only started listening to the station in the last few weeks

Lots of horse racing chat this morning and Nick Luck told a joke..........

'Freezing cold for Ladies day today, the Liverpool girls will be dressed for the weather.............they'll be wearing 2 thongs'..........

    :eek::p

Just thinking about the Grand National stories of my lifetime..........

Up until about the mid 80s it was the only race I watched, like most people..............I didn't get interested in racing until after that

    I remember Foinavon...............:D

Red Rum ...............the greatest National horse of all time

    Geraldine Rees ?...........first lady rider

Aldaniti and Bob Champion............probably the greatest National 'story' of all time

Corbiere, Jenny Pitman, the 'First Lady of Aintree', first Lady trained winner

The bomb scare National..............was it eventually run on the Monday ?

    Mr Frisk...............amateur rider

Esha Ness..........the national that never was

    Royal Athlete..............I backed him !..............:D

Don't Push It.............AP finally wins the big one

The national is my favourite sporting day of the year and surprisingly I've been quite lucky backing the winners in the past! Funny how you remember all your winners as well :p Amberleigh house, Numbersixvalverdie, Comply or Die and had Neptune Collonges last year.

My usual technique is back 3 horses, one of the favorites to win and a couple of long odds horses each way. Gone for Imperial Commander win and Harry the Viking and Saint Are EW this year.

Bit young for a lot of the classic national memories when they were ran but personally remember

Party Politics winning at General Election time.

    The Void national

The Monday national after the bomb scare (was Peter O'Sullivans final one as well)

Red Marauder winning in the bog of 2001 when only 4 finished (and 2 of those were remounted which can't happen these days!)

Didnt realise they'd decided to get rid of the proper parade, tbh I probably agree with that it was a massive faff organising them and got the horses het up straight away.

My son had 2 quid each way on it.

Why didn't they have the starting tape, has this been scrapped now?
