The ones in bold are who I want to win, the smilies are for who I'd also be happy to see win.
I couldn't pick one for international female!
Oh - the AM's are rightfully there. [Irony]Justice prevails.[/Irony]
Why is that laughable? Laura Marling's album went top 5 and was very highly praised by music critics. In addition Rebecca's latest album only came out at the very end of 2013 so may be held back for next year.
Hardly. Critics love Laura more than Ferguson and she has won the award before and been nominated before. It isn't unfair, it's just not being able to accept your fav act lost out on a nomination. There are a few others i would like to see nominated but i am not being childish by throwing my toys out the pram and saying "it's unfair"
Im just fed up with how biased the Brits are tbh.
WANT: Tom Odell (but happy with any winner)
THINK: John Newman
British Female
WANT: Laura Marling
THINK: Ellie Goulding
British Group
WANT & THINK: Disclosure
British Breakthrough
WANT: Disclosure (though happy with any winner)
British Single
WANT: Naughty Boy ft Sam Smith - La La La
THINK: One Direction - One Way or Another (assuming this is still public voted. It is sad to think that a dreadful cover would win over 9 better songs)
Album of the Year
WANT: Disclosure - Settle
THINK: Arctic Monkeys - AM
International Male
WANT & THINK: Justin Timberlake
International Female
WANT: Janelle Monae (certainly the most deserving of the recognition, there may be a chance)
THINK: Katy Perry
International Group
WANT: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (would be happy with any winner, maybe apart from Kings of Leon)
THINK: Haim
Overall I'm very happy with the nominations. Fantastic to see Janelle Monae being recognised in International Female, would be brilliant to see her take it!
I think the Brits are usually quite fair. I too would have liked to see Rebecca Ferguson nominated, but not instead of Laura Marling who is undoubtedly one of the best British artists around in my opinion. I would have put Rebecca Ferguson maybe instead of Birdy, though I haven't listened to her album, so I'm a bit biased in that respect. Laura Marling definitely deserves this award though.
British Male Solo Artist - John Newman
British Female Solo Artist - Ellie Goulding
British Group - Rudimental
British Breakthrough Act - Bastille
British Single - Ellie Goulding 'Burn'
British Album - Rudimental 'Home'
International Male Solo Artist - Drake
International Female Solo Artist - Lorde
International Group - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Hopefully they won't be so predictable with the winners and we see someone other than Arctic Monkeys win group and album (Disclosure have a slight chance imo).
