Now that TMF has finally appeared ont the sky channel list i would've thought that MTV would've improved their limited playlist, but obviously i was wrong as i see them churning out the same hits all day long. The only exception would be the late shift where they try to include heavy metal and dance, but even that is later spoilt by tracks like coldplay and nelly& kelly
COME ON MTV SORT IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, they played prodigy - firestarter and a few 'older ones', can't remember exactly, anyway I thought at the time that the mix was a little better, however, it does seem that everytime I switch on tmf it is nelly&kelly, eminem, avril, sugarbabes etc. or at least these are guaranteed within a few songs.
Not moaning because it is nice to have the choice to watch more than 4 channels and overall i think tmf is ok

No, certainly Dido and All Saints were on there some time back. Not sure about Britney but it wouldn't surprise me.
Chris
For the irish who have Euro.
TMF, first time I turn over, what is is ??? My God, surely not, it's Nelly and Kelly for the 18,125,489th time  .
Granted they play a couple of ok songs, but I doubt i'll be watching much.
anyway TMF are playing lots of amazing tunes, got Alien Ant Farm smooth criminal, just had the Manics - Design For Life, they even played Wonderwall earlier!!!
But I have seen Nelly & Kelly 3 times within the last 2 hours! Also that "can't believe Im in heaven" thing twice.
Seriously there must be some deals going on cos TMF does have some QUALITY tunes, its a shame its tarnished by the same few being overplayed by far!
Top marks tmf lateshift, I almost didn't want to go to bed!
Sorry if I sound cynical, but the music industry is all about maximising corporate profits via their monopoly control over the majority of worldwide content distribution methods, screwing both the artist and the consumer. This is slowly coming to a head thanks to the net, but most people are still totally oblivious to this...
The following article pretty much sums up the current state of play with regard to payola, and the subsequently obvious genre narrowing of most music channels.

To be fair to MTV, it looks like they are finally trying to combat this - albeit only after about 11pm...

TheGnome.
I thought this when i first watched TMF. But every night those same songs are just jigged around and nothing new added. Out of those I have only seen blur once, but manics are on every night, and have been for months. And it's the same song
It's crap seeing them still on after a month.
But the daytimes even worse.
TMF also would broadcast Music video's which where banned by MTV for being to randy, violent or what ever reason MTV thought a Music video would get the warth of some big bad Group putting them in a bad light.
TMF had all kinds of programs whith Dutch VJ's and even a program taped at Dutch Clubs and all these 16-17-18 year old would do wierd stuff just to be on TV. (Get kids drunk let them loose and they will do anything.)
MTV was feeling the HEAT here in the Netherlands and Belgium from TMF. So what did Goliath do buy TMF. Within one or two years MTV had all the programming from TMF on there MTV and Turned TMF into an Interactive channel. (altbeit the interactive part is not more then being able to send SMS messages to TMF during certain hours of the day. TMF output here in Netherlands is well terrible (as is MTV nowadays) Top40 crap and yes Nelly and Kelly (someone please ban this video)
At this moment i have 3 music channels on my Cable. MTV TMF and our version of THE BOX (just been bought up here in the nethlands by a German broadcaster). The box has themed nights. Monday RandB, WednesDay Rock/alternative, Friday Dance.
TMF used to be owned here in the Netherlands by a record company. They where the channel that promoted Hardcore House (Gabber music) , they have special programs focussing on Dutch artists. (and we have a few). The general opion of the channels are that they are bland and every one just want Ray Cokes back on MTV. (What does this guy do nowadays anyway?)
Greetz Arno
That would be "DJ Sammy and Yanou Feat. Do - Heaven"
Its the chooooon of the year. Should have a MTV Heaven channel playing it non stop imo. Awesome
They do its called TMF
Also, my money is on them making a follow up tune that sounds VERY similar to milk the success. Squeeze it dry. See 'Ian van Dahl' for the exact formula to that one.
Kev/Skunky
Nope.. their follow up tune is a cover, but thats about as similar as it gets to 'Heaven'.
It features a different vocalist and the music is totally different. Its a copy of the Don Henly classic "Boys Of Summer"... had it for ages now and should be just as big as Heaven when it finally comes out
I was just thinking along the lines of the formulaic nature of most top-40 chart music, particularly with regard to my 'payola' comments earlier in the thread.

They also do a version of California Dreamin'
Seems they are quite big on the ol' covers, but then who aint these days!
