Ann Mitchell is quoted to say that Patrick is going to have to be looked after and Cora steps in...any ideas on what this may mean.
Could it be that Patrick becomes ill???

doubt it.. Patrick is not leaving
He might be? It just may be that they haven't confirmed anything yet but have it all planned out.
Dementia doesn't necessarily lead to death straight away. For Alzheimer's, life expectancy is 7 years, with the first few years showing few signs. Look at Terry Pratchett: since he's been diagnosed he's become a Knight of the Realm, published four new Discworld books and three non-Discworld books, had roles in two Discworld TV specials, lectured twice a year every year in Trinity College Dublin (two days ago was his most recent one, and one of the lectures was a full workshop which was bloody brilliant), and has at least two more Discworld books coming out in the next two years.
So there you go: the first year is the hardest, coming to terms with the fact you are going to lose your mind and die a hard death. What happens after that is entirely up to the sufferer.
That's a good parallel Priscilla:)
But also, a second chance with Ava's dad- he was also black and she lost him so Patrick's sort of a reminder of him as well
Thanks.
It looks like a good SL, I'd also like to see Dot back for this because they are good friends.
I'm so glad you pointed that out.
dot is back in January before the story starts
Hun, you just proved my point more! If the life expectancy for Alzheimer’s is more like ten years, then it just shows that if a character in a soap is diagnosed with it, they don't have to leave straight away. There's plenty more years ahead of any of the older cast, if they do a story like this.
Ava's dad was a sailor who left port and never came back. I can't recall talk of Patrick ever being a sailor.
Also, would Cora treat as a dear friend a man who had 'broke her heart' and left her pregnant and alone?
I hope this is the way they're going but I also hope that Patrick survives. He is one of my favourite characters.
How exactly would that result in Patrick needing to be looked after?
Thanks for the info:)
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww no! I can’t imagine if Val on Emmers got it........she’ll be nagging our eardrums off forever!!!!!!
Maybe Cora made up about the father treating her badly.. If she could lie about her daughter being alive, anything is possible.
Is that deffo the story then? I just heard He'd get a sweet/emotionally engaging story.. If it is him being looked after how much do we know about that?
