Surprised there's no thread for this. Premiere double bill. American chick lit stuff but there's interesting sex scenes which is why I'm watching. Well acted though. One of the leads is a Brit too.

Ah they just said it's a comedy drama. I suppose it is really.

Thought there would be more talk on this, caught the first 2 eps last night and was really impressed, interesting characters, great dialogue, enough jokes and highl watchable, definately series linked.

I did start one a while back, but was watching at US pace...

    No spoilers in there though.

    Looking forward to S2 already!

Wouldn't it just be easier to watch some porn if that's why you're watching it?:p

As for the show, i quite liked it, it had that Judd Apatow 'Freaks & Geeks' feel to it, i'll definitely be tuning in again next week.

Yeah, Sky are really pushing this. If this thread is anything to go by, the show doesn't seem to have much buzz about it over here. I recall reading about it in the TV season preview and how strong it was likely to be. The main lead has a strangely alluring quality even though you woudn't describe her as a looker. I'd give her a job!!

Just typical HBO either they show amazing shows or total rubbish, guess for me this falls into the second category.

It was quite good but I am not sure I really "get it".... I will keep watching but I am not sure.

I also found the guy the main character is sleeping with absolutely repulsive, to the point of feeling physically sick.

I did at first too, but he really grew on me towards the end of S1

Sky Atlantic exclusive, and they've waited a long period (for Sky at least) to show it, it wasn't ever going to do that well.

I rather enjoyed it, I'll give it another look next week

Really enjoyed this, I'm a guy and shouldn't enjoy these kind of programmes but do (but don't tell my friends).
Reminds me of Ugly Betty which I really miss!! Liked the girl who was a virgin thought she was funny.
look forward to the next episode.

Really surprised at how much I'm loving this show. It's like a grimy geeky old skool Sex and the City (pre the awful movies).

So I'm the only one that absolutely hated it. Hated! Hated! Hated it! It was just so, I don't even know how to describe it, trite, boring, self-indulgent.

I mean the opening scene was about the lead character's parents refusing to fund her after years of college and internship and they were making them out to be the bad guys. just get a job you selfish moo.

I got 3/4 of the way through episode 1 and decided its not for me.

It's been hyped and I felt a tad underwhelmed but it's still early days. The girl who is sponging off her parents is easily the best character and her relationship with her 'boyfriend' is the funniest part of the show.

    I'll probably keep watching it

She's also the show creator and main writer. Hugely talented.

Loved this show. Very clever writing.

I guess you can read whatever you want into that scene, but I would never have interpreted it the way you did.

The show has a bunch of characters. All of whom are despicable. All of whom are sympathetic. All of whom are likeable. You know, almost like real people.

But, that's not to say you're wrong. We all have different tastes.

    I'd completely agree with that

Me neither. Makes sense then why she has the main character chasing a writing career plus the boyfriend is an actor. Two professions she knows well. I bet they're calling her the new Candace Bushnell.

Sounds like she might be a bit racy writing herself sex scenes with nudity!! :D

Apparently those are the scenes she's most nervous about. I'd assume she's either brave or unwilling to make other people do them
