But the main title, Batman v Superman, is very important, and fans who are currently upset and complaining about the supposed implications of the order of names are not looking deeply enough at the matter, nor considering the true implications. Put simply, Batman is the one who is confrontational and instigates the battle in this story, and so he’s the one who is “versus” Superman here, not the other way around. It may seem like a minor distinction to some readers, but it’s really not. The ordering of those names says a lot about the nature of the story, and Batman is the antagonist and as the aggressor it makes perfect sense to name him first in this sort of title.
Yes. I'm still hoping we see a proper Man of Steel 2 at some point not too far away. Because this is not gonna be it.
As much as I hoped for the same, doubt very much that we'll see that any time soon. Think I said in an earlier post, that Henry Cavill just doesn't have the quality to be the main lead in subsequent Man of Steel films, in the same way Christopher Reeve did.
Better to have him therefore face off with other heroes, and supported by an ensemble cast. His first portrayal of Superman was still better than Brandon Routh's, though.
I have a massive concern about this film, ok Ben aflick is going to be batman I can handle that one but how can superman with his superhero powers go up against a normal human being with a utility belt?

Thats not bein fair on Routh though as the two films are totally different. One was a sequel to the Reeve films and was filmed as such and Routh did a pretty good job, the other is a complete reboot.
I think Cavill was perfectly good as Superman and certainly deserves more than having to team up with Batman. Couldn't the writers come up with a decent sequel ?

With prep-time Batman would have given himself a Kryptonite suppository and handed Superman his arse.
If you go and watch the full movie you'll find he (and Green Lantern) did have prep time (although he was unaware of Superman's weakness to Kryptonite). Furthermore, Superman wouldn't give Batman "prep time" - as this isn't a wrestling match. He would find and destroy him before he can even acquire the Kryptonite.
A lot of people like to believe that Batman can beat Superman because it's a power fantasy - we project ourselves onto Batman because he's a relateable and normal and so if he can beat a God-like being that means we can too... but the truth is Supes would wipe the flaw with us.

There's no way he wouldn't have known of Superman's weakness to Kryptonite. He is the World's Greatest Detective, after all.
kevin smith(a director, comic fan and affleks good friend) states that this is now no longer a MoS sequel and more like part 1 of a 5/6 film long story which will also include JL movie(s)
so wont be like marvel it seems where standalones lead into team up movie, more like you get introduced right into the thick of things. first we got superman, now batman and wonderwomen, next film will be JL team up, then perhaps batman solo which continues story or villains from JL etc
He wouldn't because Superman is the dullest superhero in Comics and Batman would know he was going to do that and plan accordingly.
In this very movie Batman has prep time and he still fails to beat Superman... what more do you want?
And Superman isn't "dull", he is embodiment of goodness. The fact that he has all these amazing powers and uses them to help people rather than control them is to be admired. He isn't just physically strong, he is morally strong and helps people even when they don't deserve it - that's something Batman will never understand.
Comic book fans are way too concerned with badassry and not enough with the themes and messages these stories are conveying.
Jason Mamoa has joined the cast as Aquaman. They also have Ray Fisher playing Cyborg. Starting to make the title of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice a little bit redundant. I wonder which superhero is next to join? Why not label this as a Justice League prequel which it's looking like to be more and more.

I would imagine that (with the exception of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman) all the others will have small cameo or aftercredit roles.
If they're going for the full league, then they're still missing Flash, Arrow and a Lantern. From what I've read also, Cyborg only has a minor role in the film, so it's unlikely the film will feature much outside of the main three anyway.

They also note it's a pretty good marketing move.
That still doesn't mean Superman won't get sidelined in the film despite the quote from Forbes. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
its more of a build film for justice league movie ratehr than mos sequel now so title change is ok.
its set in supermans established universe though so i am sure supes will be central to most of it, especially considering lex luthor has been cast.
i am optimistic.

I hardly think this Warners/DC thing rests on them. BvS has corporate boardroom decision written all over it.
Beg to differ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkFzXkpjXmM
Well I don't agree with any of that at all.

Watch the full movie then get back to me.
Plus Superman can fly, he can just use his heat vision from a distance or drop a building on him.

a different approach ,i am still excited.

its not as bad as i first thought but i still expect wonder woman to look a bit more muscular.

Having read the casting back when, I thought Gal Gadot was the wrong woman for the role, but having seen her in costume, she looks a perfect fit.
But fcuk that, I want to see that teaser trailer ... !!
All in good time! ;-)
