So I have left the evil Sky media empire this morning and switched to bt. I was paying £76 per month in total between bt (phoneline) and sky (tv and broadband). Now I have infinity 2 and youview to look forward to.
When I did the order, tv+broadband+phone, they have a offer for the tv/youview where if you chose the tv package, the £5 one, you get 12 months free, ie you don't pay a penny over the tv 12 month contract, but rather than cancelling each other out, it comes up as -£5 per month for tv price. My total monthly cost came up as £21 per month and not the £26, I paid for the phoneline one year in advance. Is it a glitch or have I missed something.
I did try and be greedy and go through quidco first, £10 free, but the youview 12 months free didn't come up.
I am going to miss the footie and f1, hopefully I will find other ways to watch them.

So what do you view from BT offer apart from a Freeview recorder? I bet there is very little on it which you don't have to pay for? i also hope you got broadband bandwidth to cope with it.
Don't get me wrong, if you got the bandwidth ad the content is ok then TVIP is fine, I use Netflix and that is all I use apart from the odd DVd from lovefilm, i don't watch normal TV at all.
so what do you get for your £5 a month?
I think You View could have had potential, but it came out too late and the only way it is going to get into the market is by the offers that Bt and Talk Talk makes, i doubt many people are going to pay for it unless it comes down a fair bit in price.
I had no complaints with sky, you get what you pay for. For me £76, for phone, broadband, f1, champions league footie, Spartacus and games of thrones, I couldn't justify paying for it, that's all. I would love for sky to stick the f1 and champions league footie online for a separate season pass etc at a fair price:)
As for broadband, I just want quicker downloads and my friends will make use of the uploads to youtube etc its all good
