Clara's Family

Do you think there is a possibility that Clara's Mum or Dad will travel with The Doctor possibly to find the real Clara/Oswin?

In previous episodes when there has been a mention of a 'daughter', Clara has always acted strange as if she is remembering something.

People seem to forget a lot of stuff with these newer eps.

but why is she dead, has that been explained, does The Doctor remember seeing Clara's mum as in the prequel?

Sometimes people get ill and die - it's not necessarily caused by an Alien.:D

In the prequel, does the Doctor just happen to meet Clara, or is his meeting her part of his investigation into her past, as shown in The Rings?

He just runs into her... It's before he goes all monk and goes into the Monastery to contemplate

    Right. Thanks. :)

I wonder if he later remembers meeting her as a child?

It hasn't been explained as to why The Doctor was there. He met Clara on the swings but they didn't know each other. He was reading the Beano when they showed Clara's Mum and Dad meeting.

Probably after her realises it was the same park... When he meets her when she's about 4ish...

No it's before he goes to the Monastery. Young Clara actually gives him the idea to go away to a quiet room and try and remember where you last saw the thing you lost. Which is why he goes to the Monastery.

The Doctor was searching for Clara at that point and may have already spent time investigating the lives of Victorian Clara and Oswin but he had not yet started investigating the life of 21st Century Clara.

but the monastery bit was in the episode before the one where we see him kinda following her early childhood life (Rings of Akhaten?) wasn't it ?

That's what I thought. He doesn't even know 21st century Clara exists when he goes to the monastery. He only finds out when he gets an IT support telephone call from her!

Then, after meeting her and defeating the Shard lot he decides to investigate her past. He watches her parents first meet, the birth of their baby and then meets them again in a park when Clara is young. From which he then comes to the conclusion that Clara is a perfectly normal human girl.

Yes but the Prequel meeting was before all of it.

    • Doc meets Oswin
    • Doc meets Victorian Clara
    • Doc spends a long time looking for a third version
    • Doc at some point investigates the lives of Oswin and Victorian Clara for clues.
    • Doc is ready to give up but meets young 21st Century Clara in playground.
    • She gives him the idea to go somewhere quiet and think about things.
    • He goes to the Monastery in 1207 (I think it was)
    • 21st Century Clara rings him up (Bells of St J happens)
    • Doc then spends time Investigating the life of 21st Century Clara.

That's been the only one for 7b but there have been others in the past (Asylum of the Daleks had one and The Snowmen had two for example).

I'm guessing the Finale may well have one as well.
