Do homeplugs need security

I installed homeplugs for a mate that needed to get an Internet connection to a freesat box . One plug is plugged directly into the router . The other plug is plugged into the freesat box so there isn't a wireless connection between the plugs . However my mate is worried about security and doesn't want to use them until he knows more . Are they secure ? They have a password on each plug but I have no clue what to do with it and the plugs work regardless .

I have the 200 Mbps TP-LINK with pass through sockets, others may of course work differently.
Unless you share your ring main with another household, I'd say they are secure.
They are probably reasonably secure without that but that depends on how adjacent premises are wired. The security features fix that.
I hope you posted this a joke? Otherwise no plane will fall from the sky.
No, it's a well known fact that they cause planes to fall from the sky.
I've seen it happen.
if it's in a house then unless you are paranoid, probably not.
From this we can calculate that 28 homeplugs were sold around the world.
That's my post of the year so far
