I normally live in the Movie / Gaming forums and this thread would be a lot different if you did put it in the Movies section. The answers here are films that are mostly 20+ years old. If this was the Movies forum I think there's be a lot more recent ones on here.
Oh, and another film I thought would be complete shite but really like was......Boat Trip. I think going into it with zero expectation probably helped. Lots!
Les Visiteurs and the American remake Just Visiting
Use to love watching Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Marx brothers and Jacques Tati on the tv when I was young.
Why don't they show them on the telly anymore?
Actually, it's because most of the comedy films made over the last 10-20 years have been unfunny, tedious gross-out 'comedies' by Hollywood morons. Bridesmaids and There's Something about Mary spring to mind.

However Airplane is vastly superior.
What about Bob
However, with certain films, I'd get the superior versions on DVD. That is more extras, uncut etc.

Four Lions
Private Parts
Bit like Airplane, but funnier.
Yeah love that film. Also,The Hard Way with Fox and James Woods.
Yep they are both in it. Plus Michael McKeen and Madeline Kahn
Not only is it factually incorrect as time has not yet ended but it has a desperate fan girl ring to it - like BEST BOY BAND EVAH!!!111:p
