My 7 and 10 y/o nephews are getting a PS3 for xmas, would hate for them to stumble across some porn. Is there a way to block those sites?

Look at this current thread over on the computing forum. The OpenDNS suggestions work at the router level and will prevent any device connected to the router from accessing blacklisted adult sites. Note that no filtering system will be able to block all traces of porn websites.

And remember, if the parents like looking at porn on their computer, they won't be too happy to also find it blocked.

You can password access to the browser if you want to stop them accessing the internet.

Yeah - I agree. Whilst I can understand parents wanting to be cautious I think scare stories in the media have made it seem that as soon as you logon to the Internet you're going to immediately be bombarded with porn.

Also, the PS3 web browser isn't exactly user-friendly. At least, it's not as user friendly as a normal computer browser. For a 7 and 10 year old they're not going to accidently see porn.

The other thing is that parents should talk to their kids anyway about what they did on their PS3 and computers anyway. They're more likely to use it to play games that they're not really old enough to play than watching dodgy stuff on the net.
