  I'd reinsert the old cartridge and see if it recognises that. Then switch your printer and computer off. Leave for five minutes and switch back on again and try again.

  Sometimes it's just one cartridge that is not registering ,giving you the not regognised message.
  Try going to Word ,write a few lines then click PRINT, could show which is the culprit..
  Another tip is to remove all cartridges, turn on printer, after it stops loading, turn off,
  Do this 4 times to clear the memory then reload the cartridges , (works for me )
