Hi all.
I bought my daughter a Logik L19DVDB11 TV/DVD combi recently. Seems to work fine apart from the fact it will not play films off a USB stick.
When you look at the folder on screen the film is there. But when you click on the play button or OK button to start the file nothing happens.
The play and OK buttons on the remote work fine on other inputs.
The film on this stick is an Xvid and as the TV manual states I have made sure the usb stick is formatted to FAT32.
The film on the USB stick plays fine on our PC and on our 40'' LG TV downstairs.
I am completely stumped by this........can anyone help ?

It's a cheap nasty TV of the poorest possible 'make', it's not a computer, most TV's only play a fairly small number of file types.
To find out what files it can play, ask in Currys, it's their own brand name.
i guess it would be interesting to see if it plays XviD from disk.
it's also worth mentioning that all XviDs are not created equal. if you made this file yourself then you may have not used the correct specification. the standard spec these days for xvid is advanced simple profile level 5, no QPel or GMC, with 2 Bframes.
apparently this model plays MPEG1 and MPEG2 from usb.
It does play xvid from disc flagpole. It has photo/audio and video folders in the usb mode so it must have video playback from usb.
So I have 2 questions.
1. What type of video file is MPEG1 and MPEG2 ?
2. Can I convert a downloaded xvid film to either of these files and how do I do it ?
Thanks.
