Whilst you make a good question, nobody is forcing you to watch it then. You could record it & watch it on Friday or watch it online on the Friday (or any other time you wish).

It's supposed to be topical; it's even broadcast live. If you watch it two days later you'll lose the topicality and liveness. (It's also supposed to be a round-up of the week's events; that naturally happens at the end of the week. Hence the show title, The Last Leg. Perhaps they should rename the mid-week version to The Middle Leg.)
