    The Three Stooges

Couple of genuinely funny moments, but all seemed a bit contrived.

I am a fan of the original films though.

Good little vampire film, which builds up the tension quite nicely. Not sure I'd watch it again but I did enjoy it.

'Cosh Boy' (1953) starring a very young 'Joan Collins' and a very young blink and you'll miss 'Johnny Briggs'.

So bad it was fabulous, especially if you adore old B/W British films like I do.

Really liked this too, thought the bloke from the Pet Shop Boys was excellent!

At Cinema : A good day to Die Hard . Not in anyway a Die Hard Movie . Virtually no plot or dialogue , however action scenes are ok although way over the top. 5/10.

On tv : Knight and Day. Bubblegum action thriller that is very easy to watch ( and it stars Cameron Diaz) . 7/10

    Hierro [2009]. Director: Gabe Ibáñez

    6/10

Any film marketed as "from the producers of..." (in this case Pan's Labyrinth and The Orphanage) is likely to be lacking in the script and direction departments and this one's no exception. A missing child mystery which benefits from some bleak Canary Islands locations.

Great indie film about an alcoholic. Mary Elizabeth Winstead should of been one of the main contenders for Best actress for her performance. Shame.

    Katyń [2007]. Director: Andrzej Wajda

    8/10

WW2 movie with a twist in that it was the Soviets who executed 22,000 Poles, left their bodies in mass graves and blamed the Nazis for it for 45 years after the war. The director's father was one of those killed.

    The Expendables 2

Simon 'Con Air' West makes the best he can of some tired old components as Sly and his alpha-male crew do their thing. Like the first, this is entertaining enough to watch, but you can't help but wonder if it should be better. The dialogue is weak and Bruce Willis blatantly phones it in. Still, a few of the gags work and JCVD makes for an agreeably hammy villain. One line ("shoot something!") pretty much sums up the whole thing. 7/10

    - really enjoyed the film as a whole, the MK-Slave aspect made me a tad uncomfortable, but it also allowed me to understand and sympathize with the main character.

Crank 2 2/10. I thought that the first film was OK but this one just tried too hard to be crazy and fast-paced. I couldn't keep up with it!
