.PCX support dropped in Microsoft Office

an old database I use that imports pcx files into access works perfect in ancient office 97 and fine with a patch in Office 2003 - I can find however no way to get .pcx files working in Office 2010 so when the import is done it brings me details and no photos.

Does anyone know how to get the .pcx filter to work with office 2010 by any chance ?

I think you might have to use Libreoffice or reformat the .pcx files to something new.

PCX support was dropped in office 2007 and later...probably time to get the database updated to handle .bmp files or something more modern

PCX was designed during the early development of PC display hardware and most of the formats it supported are no longer used, according to Wikipedia.
