Is there anything "wrong" with wanting to win

Seems to be something in the British pschye that means it makes a bad h/m because they want to win. Hell, if I went in there ( which I would never do cos I would thrown out in the first week -I could not keep my mouth shut long enough not to be nominated/ or calling someone out i.e Conor over his behaviour re Deana). But if I was ever stupid enough to apply - I would want to win. So why are people syaing that wanting to win is a bad thing. Is it the methods they use to get to the prize? Or do we just like losers/underdogs.

"he's game playing". get him out!!!!
...in a game.
I am watching BB1 at the mo, and ringing through my head is, the song ....'its only a gameshow, its only a gameshow, its only a gameshow, its only a gameshowwwww' watch BB1 if you want to know what i mean.:)
Oh and I love the gameplayers, they make the shows
I completely agree.. It's horrific.
Whatever people say, they enter the BB house in order to win the prize money and to generate more through a resulting career.
Many contestants, when you start digging a little deeper, often have a past that includes being an extra (Becky) or working in TV or film (Lydia) or having some link.
nothing wrong with "playing the game" and wanting to win however if the desire to win gets over a certain mark that you start to delude yourself and become aggressive/intimidating...is a real cause for concern i.e conor.
They all went in to have good time and maybe get some fame. The idea is to show yourself in a good light OR be prominent and get to the final. Once in the final its the luck of draw if you win.
I cant be bothered with people telling me they don't like a HM because
They are playing a game - they all are
They are bitching - everyone talks about the others behind their backs
They are being fake - they are all trying to present themselves as best they can
They are desperate to win - who doesn't want to win
Trying to bully, intimidate and even cheat your way to victory might wash in other countries, but it's not something that tends to sell well over here.
So Lauren Deanna, Luke A, Adam, Scott and Sara dont ever do anything like that?
What never?
Of course they do. They all do.
Totally agree.:D
I've always questioned the exact same thing about the British psyche. Sociologically speaking, I think it boils down to old 3H Saxon values. Which are hard work, honesty and humility.
The British people have been socialised either consciously or subconsciously through out the ages with those 3H values in mind. Hence, the reason why people can not bring themselves to terms to see someone else profit without exhibiting those values.
Just a theory.
By they way, BBUS is back and the game playing in the first 2 episodes makes BBUK looks like a summer camp.
You mean the ones that constantly get accused of being boring and never doing anything?
When I said that everyone that goes in would like to win, I meant that nobody would be unhappy if they were crowned the winner.
That's not answer is it? It's an attempt at distraction, an irrelevant point.
Having made your bold statement why wouldn't you be prepared to answer a simple challenge to it?
I think they would all like to win, they ,may not expect to win. Ashleigh for example, I believe has no expectations of winning.
BUT I cant think of anyone who does not want to win. They behave differently, have different tactics and barriers they will or wont cross.
Can you think of anyone who you could say did not want to win.
Also in general, us British don't like winning, showing off or being competitive. It's just in our nature.
