Couldn't find a proper thread for this film, just multiple small ones.
Anyway three (not great quality clips) have been released http://whatculture.com/film/watch-the-amazing-spider-man-three-brand-new-clips.php?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=watch-the-amazing-spider-man-three-brand-new-clips
I think this film looks realllly good and I'm one of the few people who thinks this looks better than the Raimi versions.

Although the trailer does look good and I'm a big Andrew Garfield fan so who knows.
Loved the Raimi Trilogy and have no intention of ever watching this travesty of a film.
When this bombs at the box office as it very likely will judging by most forums/etc ive read i hope hollywood gets the picture that reboots aint always needed.
Frankly it looks really shit anyway crap actors poor direction and an awful looking spidey costume
Ahhh nothing quite like positive thinking is there...
This film wont fail, and what forums have you been reading exactly?
I think it looks a vast improvement on Raimi's tacky, plodding efforts, and as said, it will surely do tremendous business. Perhaps not in the Raimi league ($800m) but will scoot over $600m no problem. Internationally, it may well do better than Avengers.
Btw - judging by forums? Do you actually think the studios give a f*ck these days?
They know damn well most of the moaners will be first in the queue, as is often the case. They're way ahead, FFS.
Its not the best reason to reboot it but the film may still be decent.Im just not really that fussed about seeing it and I'm a massive comic book fan
Poor old spidey.
It appears he's caught in some kind of Ground Hog day. Not so long ago (ten years to be precise) there was a film about him that focused on how he became Spider-Man.
With the release of The Amazing Spider-Man it's a case of different Spidey but same old story.
They may want to call this a 're-boot' but let's call a it what it really is, and that's a remake. Christopher Nolan took a character we were all pretty familiar with and made a mature superhero film that merited the term reboot. Why can't they do the same with Spider-Man?
Credit where it's due, Andrew Garfield is highly watchable throughout, but it's just disappointing that this popular character ends up treading water by having yet another origins story.
Surely there can only be three people on the planet who are unaware of how Peter Parker became Spider-Man?
And no, just by not having JJ Jameson in the film doesn't make it any more original.
It's not that this film isn't fun to watch, but it's far from 'amazing'.
Review here.
I am looking forward to it. I have reservations but I will keep an open mind and see what I think.
Although, as many people have pointed out a few times in different threads, The Lizard still looks like a Goomba from the dire "Super Mario Bros" film.
(NB: I know i haven't seen the film yet, but I have seen the tie-in action figures, and they're the dead-spit!)
I'm one of the people more than satisified by the entire Raimi trilogy. The 2002 movie was one of the first Marvel films since CGI made it possible to make them possible. The sequel imo is one of the top 3 pure comic book movies of all time. Enjoyed the third movie.
I think Andrew Garfield was awesome (and no, I'm not just saying that because I find him incredibly attractive...:o), a much better Spiderman than Tobey Maguire, and he is hilarious! Laughed so many times throughout the film! I mean, when it was good, it was great! The Lizard was really creepy, and Emma Stone was good. I loved the INCREDIBLY awkward scene between her and Peter, when Peter was trying to ask Gwen out in the school hall...that was hilarious! But I just found myself bored too many times and I thought it dragged on a bit
IMO, Andrew made that film!
Disagree with the opinion that it dragged on a bit, but then that's my opinion,
As someone who wasn't keen on a reboot of Spiderman so soon after Sam Raimi's trilogy, I am glad to say I was proven wrong!
Emma Stone is very good as Gwen Stacey also. Although I don't get how a girl in High School can also be the lead intern for a big science division at Oscorp at the same time.
Rhys Ifans was good as Curt Connors/The Lizard but I honestly don't think there was enough of him. His part needed to be bigger.
I felt the battle between Spidey and Lizard was too short. It seemed to be over in about 2 mins and that we'd seen pretty much all of it in the trailers.
The biggest criticism I have of the film is that Spidey had his masked off half the time. I'm surprised that there isn't a single person in New York now who doesn't know who Spider-man is.
As much as I enjoyed Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben I didn't really get any emotional reaction compared to Sam Raimi's version.
I did feel a bit disappointed coming out of it, but this is a new beginning and hopefully a potential sequel will have something to build on.
And is it just me or do the Spider-man movies have a habit of having villains that have voices in their heads and also likes to end the films with funerals?
If you've not seen the previous trilogy and aren't all that familiar with the Spidey origin storyline then it'll probably be well received. If like me, you grew up reading the comics and have seen the previous 3 then you do find yourself thinking "yeah yeah yeah - hurry up and shoot the old guy so we can get on with the rest of the story" at times.
No Sarah Jane, no daily bugle and IMO a missed opportunity to play with the Parker/Flash characters at school to fill that void left by JJJ at the Bugle. FX were nice but not nice enough to make this a must see Spidey flick.
One for the DVD rental rather than forking out at the cinema if you ask me.
Sarah Jane? Mary Jane?
More screen time of Garfield flopping his Robert Pattinson-esque hair about will appeal to the female (and some male) audience, thus potentially increasing ticket sales.
