Haha that ad did make me laugh I like that show, so looking forward to the new series
Went to see two of them being recorded some months ago, one was really funny, the other not so I seem to remember, it depends on the guest comedians, but like the show and the ad for it too
Oh but I would still rather eat them than setting up elaborate ways of flinging them in the air no matter how light they were, now the one they did when some years ago where they were in the car and they tried to eat one as they turned corners was funny
One of them in the last series had Rufus Hound on who was quite good at the game, Russell Kane came up with a great question IIRC even though he's not funny
The recent McDonalds one with the man trying to bond with his girlfriend's son. It's actually quite sweet but the "nah, you're alright" gets really annoying. And why does the son suddenly have a change of heart when the offer of McDonalds comes up, what a twerp.

Presumably they are suggesting that a BigMac can't be turned down??
Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but the one I cannot bear to watch is the quit smoking one where cancerous mutations appear on the cigarette according as the guy smokes it! Just disgusting!
Those outrageously long adverts appealing for money on behalf of starving children/snow leopards/bunny rabbits with wooden legs make me cringe. These are charities that use their donations on ads that sometimes go on for the entire length of the ad break. They are crass and over sentimental to the extent that they are clearly aimed at the gullible. I suspect that any money that does reach the target causes is tiny in comparison with the amount spent on staff wages and administration fees.

it's so twee it makes you want to throw up. Macdonalds usually come up with something a little less lazy and trite. It ties for most annoying with andrex wanting to know how you wipe the shit off your arse. Do you really Andrex? or it is just a pretty lame marketing stunt. Thought So.
Yeah the McDonald ads are the worst, they're trying to advertise like how they're some pivotal part of our lives.
First it was the "See you Lataaa, what does that even mean?" ad, what do you think it bloody means love. And now it's bonding with your step son over heart disease.
No. 7 "tah dah" irritates me so much I have to turn the sound off! The woman doesn't even say tah dah, she says dur dum, very quietly. Surely tah dah should be said with a flourish or it loses it's point.
Also the macmillan ad which is shown incessantly. Don't they think of the people who died of cancer & relive it every time one of the people falls over?? There are better & more considerate ways they could have illustrated what macmillan nurses do.

I hate the smug gittiness in that ad and the woman sounds like she's up her own ar*e
I hate that ad for greasy franchise burgers and chips where it says in big letters across the screen it's 'part of all of our lives' or something equally vapid and untrue. Ugh.
I kind of like the Beyonce one, where she's dressed as a tarty, gyrating Queen Elizabeth I minus her jewelled skirt, showing off her huge Elizabethan ruff (yes, I said ruff). That, and the unlikely grizzled tones of Sean Bean doing a right northern voiceover. It's just bizarre, isn't it?

I think that is the point they are trying to get across. It does make me turn away and I don't smoke.

Still not very nice for us non smokers though, especially as we all know, the pig headed smokers will still be puffing "one last ****" as they are wheeled into surgery.

Agree on both points, the TA dah is so wimpy you wonder why she bothers, it is almost:rolleyes: and the Macmillans ad is just , I like the other ads with them sitting with people and the patients saying how helpful they were, (although the nurse with the faint Midlands accent always reminds me of Julie Walters for some reason).

Very similar to what I said about it on the last thread. I haven't really seen anyone speak out in favour of this ad on here yet. I've only had the misfortune of seeing it once but it sounds like it's getting played a lot. Once is bad enough. Sorry Macmillan but pull the ad and go back to the drawing board. Admit you messed up. You helped my mum greatly when she was dying but this ad is in bad taste in my opinion and from reading on here, many others.
And whilst I'm on here, I just nearly brought up my breakfast twice seeing the EMBARRASSING BODIES advert being played during the ads on Sunday Brunch and an earlier programme.
Gruesome skin conditions and ailments being flashed up for a few seconds at a time, you idiots at channel 4 think it's really necessary to go into that much graphic detail in a trailer? Of course you do. It's the type of sensationalist advertising I have come to expect for such a guttural show.
If I can't avoid the programme by not watching it, I may have to avoid your channel altogether channel 4!

The two I saw didn't have Millican or Mitchell on, but they did have Jason Manford, Sandi Toksvig, Rebecca Front, Mark Steel on there to name a few

I am neither. Get the hell off my television, you degenerate gambling, pair of bum faced twerps.

it's the name of the show.
I quite like that one, I wouldn't mind her kissing me, I love the way she says "Sorreeee";)
