dont suppose this is available on a channel we can manually tune to on our sky HD box. Guess it must be on another satellite. Wish i had a powered dish!!!
I think this is a key point, British Eurosport is different to the free to air Eurosport in the rest of Europe. It'll go HD eventually, but probably not anything to get too excited about quite yet.
Eurosport used to be FTA until it switched from analogue to digital except for the remaining analogue service, Eurosport Deutschland which is still on air at 19 east.

Of course its different, British Eurosport is rubbish.
I agree with that, Its all the rubbish that Sky etc dont want.
Not sure why you feel the need to contribute to a thread regarding a channel you dont like. Some people like me like a wide variety of sport not covered by the likes of sky. Seeing this in HD quality would be great for us. I am not massively into movies but dont complain about sky investing in HD movie channels so people who are can watch them.
I was watching the Tennis on Eurosport this afternoon and they kept advertising the HD channel on several occasions. This was in English so what's happening about an HD channel for us poor devils with our Sky HD boxes. So with ITV HD that's 2 channels we are being teased by.

It was open well, I saw it yesterday, Tennis was on
reported as being temporarily FTA in another thread (non 28 forum) along with C+ sport on Hotbird & Astra. For C+ sport frequencies look at FTA gems at top of page on non 28 forum
Eurosport says it is not "commercially viable" to go 16:9 or HD for the UK market. So why not just give us the International Feed like we used to have in the old analogue days. Most of us can work out the difference between CET and BST

I agree, bad FULL 4:3 coverage on Eurosport or part time coverage 16:9 picture on ITV but way too many adverts
Is the European HD feed FTA or scrambled??
IIRC the feed is scrambled.
Question is what would we rather have?
Brit Eurosport in SD 4:3 with "in shot presenters" which is "slightly" tailored made for the UK audience?
or
International Eurosport HD with NO "in shot presenters" with some sports that may not be favoured in the UK.
I know what i would prefer
Transponder : 12344 H
Symbol Rate : 29500 (ie: can't be 'Add Channel' on a Sky box)
FEC : 3/4
Label : 3804
EPG
17:15-19:15 : Live Junior World Athletics Champs
19:15-21:00 : Boxing - Arthur Abraham v. Pablo Diaz Miranda
21:00-22:00 : Tour de France
Can't wait for this, hopefully it will be on Sky before the Tour of France ends.
Great news wish they would get a move on. Annoying that they test it in a way that we cant see using add chanel
This is something I hope the new EPG tailors for the ability to tune DVB-S2 transponders
Thats the very reason we in ROI can't receive C4HD, even though C4 itself is a subscription channel on the EPG here.

You can get the FTA Freesat version of C4 now in 'add channels'

Yeah, Freesat is an option, but I'll wait for an HD PVR to be available, and C4HD, which may take a while.
