Minor things that for some reason affect your game enjoyment.
1) Has to be first person, for some reason I cannot get on with third person view at all. Just dont enjoy it...weird really.
2) As I have slightly disabled hands..(arthiritus) I die a lot, quick save(ie save at any point) is a big advantage for me.
3) I really dont like a lot of cut scenes....or when a game takes over control from you...
4) I want to climb mountains!..give me a grappling hook at least .
Whats your game preferences...ie, when you buy a game, things you hope it will(or wont) have.

Anything timed (i like to take my time).
Trying to navigate awful consolified menus with Mouse/Keyboard
look at games like god of war and how they make battling enemies more epic, also from reading these forums for long enough some people seem to confuse button prompts (press circle to open) with QTEs
The things annoys me and can get me raging quicker than anything are
1, bad check pointing, just because i missed the last jump it doesn't mean i should have to do the last 5-10minutes of climbing, just because the last guy killed me doesn't mean i should have to do the entire area again
2, Unskippable cutscenes, sort of an extension to 1, if i fail and then select retry the game should understand i have chosen to retry and therefore i must of scene the cutscene that proceeded the event that killed me
Flip side of the argument is look at games like Resident Evil 6 where QTE's littered the main gameplay, not just boss fights.
Granted it does work for large scale bosses, but only the scope is epic. There is nothing challenging or 'epic' about having to press a series of buttons with no needed strategy or any amount of skill or effort.
Take Shadow Of The Colossus with its huge, intense and epic boss fights. Now imagine if each fight was a series of QTEs. Everything amazing about it would be lost.
inability to run very fast...or loss of stamina.
Oh, and much as I shouldn't like skimpy female characters in this post feminist age I'm afraid I still do.

oh my goodness yes RE6, the qte's in that game are relentless, far far worse than RE5 (which is a good RE) and the really sad thing about it is, I died more often as a result of a QTE than from an enemy attack! Totally ridiculous.
I quite like the compromise health system which gives you x amount of health blocks which will regenerate to fill a block but you still need a health pack to fully heal yourself.
I'm looking at you, early incarnations of GTA.
Escort missions (usually because the person you're escorting has the intelligence of a fish and willingly stands in the middle of combat)
Unskippable cutscenes/end credits (nice the first time around; annoying as hell after that)
Cheap boss fights
- Escort missions
I disagree with timed missions...if it's done right. It can add a sense of urgency to make the game more exciting. Resident Evil are particularly good at this.
One thing that annoys me more than anything though is ridiculously powerful enemies. Not bosses, or sub-bosses. Normal, average enemies that take the absolute mick to take out. I understand enemies should get more powerful as the game progresses, but some games just take the mick.
Linked to that is having to load the game, press x to select language, wait some more, press start to skip intro vid, wait some more, press start at redundant start screen, wait some more, press x to confirm I won't turn off during save, wait some more, press x to confirm terms of online play, wait some more, finally see main menu... then select load last save, wait some more, confirm yes I do want to load, wait some more...
I'd like games to have the option to enable quick save or just have checkpoint save..maybe when you load a new game. if you dont like them, turn them off for the duration of the game.
Everyones happy.
Cue me scrambling for my play and charge kit, the person Im playing scoring 2 goals and and them celebrating like theyve scored a wonder goal.
And while Im on the subject of Fifa, I hate the celebrations system, drives me nuts.
this as well for me, the amount of times i've been playing friends and we've both wanted to just skip and carry on but we have to watch 20 seconds of running about that we can't get rid off
we started doing the kiss the ground celebration just to get past it quicker
